Smart move to have an off day to heal up. When I travel now, I bring an ice pack with me for my lower back and utilize it religiously.

Ice packs help quite a bit. Simple too. I'd recommend anyone start with those.
Of course, I have other prescribed stuff but hate taking it unless there's a real flare up as they're hard to obtain in the military. Sucks since they're the only thing (aside from a needle) that genuinely knocks out the pain within an hour and it takes months to get an appointment with a specialist to prescribe them. Military heath care system sucks, write your congressman. :D There are people FAR worse off that can't get proper care, those are the dudes/gals that need it.

Aside from that, yeah, healing the hands and having some clean pants to get metal shavings all over tomorrow. Should be a fun week.

Edit: In other news, if anyone has a wiring diagram for a HZJ75LV-MR let me know. Plan on taking the wiring with me back to Utah to clean up and thin out while I'm back.

Feeling tired this morning, didn’t stop working until 1030 last night.

Must man up and get on the grinder. We got a few hours of fab and can put this extended chassis back on axles!

Megazip messaged me yesterday about the hood order.
They want $1400 just to ship it. Fourteen hundred dollars.
Nope.
Canceled the order. Re-placed with Partsouq last night, for the hood plus $360 shipping, still sucks but better than $1400
Ship date: 6/25 / Delivery Date: 6/27.
That's why I dig Partsouq. No idea how they ship a hood, that fast, to the other side of the globe for $360.

I am about to order my roof from Partsouq. I was surprised that the shipping doesn't look bad. I think it was around $175

I priced out a windshield on Carmarka and it was really cheap with shipping. Cheapest out of all of them.

Carmarka had never come up in any of my searches before....maybe I just ignored them. No idea what they are all about.

Nice! Yeah I didn't even choose any special shipping or anything in order to get it that quick.

Interesting. I haven't heard of them either. I'll have to put them into the parts search rotation.

Craziest thing how they popped up with that windshield. I need to look up a few parts with them too.

Spoke to my LineX guy today....looks like Ultra is a really thin coating....equivalent of powdercoat but tougher. Not sure if you saw my post in the what did you do on your 70 thread.

Yeah I just checked that out. Bummer about the prep work. If I'm going through the cost of having the thing blocked to smooth it out, I might as well just go with Toyota 045 single stage. That's what I'm leaning towards.

Yeah.....I think I'd do the same thing. LineX is neat stuff but it's a fairly permanent decision. I always tend to worry about resale and I think it can be both a positive and a negative. I'm hoping that I can do a decent job with the Raptor but I'll chicken out and just go paint. Unfortunately, the only painter I trust(have used for 20 years) paints high end exotics....like MEGA high end stuff. Lol. Not sure I'd want to see the invoice for a Troopy to be done but it would be worth it. Guaranteed the nicest Troopy paint job in the world!

Ordered up some replacement sheet metal for the Troopy body from Australia.

Left and Right of these. Behind the rear wheel panels. The Troopys are rusted out.

And two of these. Says it's for the bottom of the windshield but I figure we can chop/modify the 2nd one to patch the top. Considered fabbing patch panels by hand but screw it. Time is more valuable than money.

this progress is awesome. I am not too far in Victor ID id love to wing buy one weekend and help / drool over this project. I am not a welder or very mechanically inclined but i can follow instructions.... go on beer / food runs....

You guys are going to pass me up quick now. Which is good because I want to see how you make your mounts and other things that are making my brain hurt thinking about it.

Yes,
Hood 53301-60770
"Bulge" aka scoop 76181-60901

the " new " hood ( DPF models ) have bigger vents ..

53301-60750

other " bits " are necessary

Toyota 045 single stage. That's what I'm leaning towards.

Looks like this:

You won't regret it. :)

Excellent progress, BTW. I'm following with much interest and even more amazement at how quickly you guys are knocking this out. I've had my Troopy for two years and haven't even gotten around to swapping out the taillights yet. lol.....
