Probably fine grit, still need to consult with the blaster people.

We're going to chop open the floorpans above the crossmembers to get the 26 years of mud and dirt out of them. Toyota thought it a great idea to not put drain holes in there. I stuck my finger in there and it was not nice. They're caked full. Then get it blasted then Rust Bullet or POR15 the inner rails. If they can blast off nearly all the rust I'll be happy, then get it into epoxy after the body is fixed up to seal it permanently.

Edit: And I'll be painting the frame. I was going to powder it but touchup is a pain with powder and a good epoxy paint will be just as durable. Plus, it's hard to find a good powder shop.

Problem with powdering a frame is getting all the grease and oil out of the channels. Once they put it in the oven they get easy and run.. more often than not ruining the powder. If you were really in it for the long haul... run it to Nucor just north of SLC and have them dip and galvanize it. Around 700.00 from the last quote I got.

I'll be finishing the weld attachments on mine tomorrow and paint on Saturday.

Great build and speedy progress. Fast track.

Test fitting the fancy front

Apparently I ordered the ornament hood. Guess I'll be rolling Arab style with a Toyota hood ornament.

Fill the holes. An insignificant tidbit in this project.:meh:

Not a fan? I do think they're silly but so is an American V8 in a Troopy.
Maybe I'll keep it, get the hood ornament and paint it black, we'll see.

I can take them or leave them. I would however fill holes faster in a pre-drilled hood than I would put holes in an un-drilled hood:)

\Awesome service.

Probably cheaper and quicker than getting it delivered here in Dubai.

You don't have the right parts guys... partsouq was anywhere from 10-25% more expensive than my local guys there in the UAE.

But I am mega impressed with how quickly it made it's way to you.

Damn this is a blitzkrieg build. Very impressive. Mike

L92/6l80e/Marks4wd-Adapter/HF2AV loosely in place. Still needs to be adjusted a fair bit but it's there. Considered pushing it back farther but decided against it. That's where the marks adapter put it. Looks a little funky with so much room between the firewall and the engine but there's plenty of room forward of the engine for a mechanical fan. Also, the shifter is in the right spot. All cylinders are behind the front axle. Mid-engine, V8 Troopy. :D

Top pic is the axles on the bumpstops, lots of room between the pan. Not in its position left to right so ignore the axle clearance.
