Thanks guys...

Bob I still need to put another order in! (edit Money Sent!)

Ron I plan on running it in the rear but have not measured anything for it yet. If I measure everything out and only end up with a 12 gallon tank I will build a 20 to 30 gal tank where the 80 series and Tacoma's have them. I really have to figure out what modern drivetrain I am running first to see what emissions, fuel pump, to build in along with the 55 series sender. But I am focusing my lasers on body work next!

apologies for the old post quote but i'm looking at putting a 55 on an 80 chassis. Did your donor 80 have single or dual tanks? I think with dual tanks there is a sub tank forward of the rear diff.. ? did nothing fit?

Here in the USA, all of our 80s have the front tank only. We have the spare mounted under the rear.

When @lowtideride shortened the 80 frame, he took 7” out of the middle, where the stock tank 80 previously resided.

Initially I used the stock 55 tank in the stock 55 location. It was important to utilize the 55 filler neck.

Later the 55 original tank was replaced with a custom tank (by Frank) that utilized the 55 Oem filler neck and mounting points. It also utilized an 80 series tank for its internal baffles, fuel pump, sending unit and drain plug.

Springs round 4. What I thought were stock height springs turned out to be 2” lift springs (851 + 860). I’m now on a new set of 861 + 862 old man emu coils.
So far so good. I’m happier that it’s not “jacked up”.

Loving it ain't ya Deo ;):):):)

I’ve always had a passion for cars and this one suits my needs pretty well. There were tons of high dollar cars at the show, but I wouldn’t have traded the 55 for any of them.
