What stock vehicle or COTS drag links and tie rods do you recommend for a FJ40 Saginaw power steering retrofit?

you will need a jeep tre on one side and a stock 40 tre on the other side of a "sae - metric" drag link .
you will need only 3 tre ( stock 40 use 5 tre )
How would you suggest fabricating the "sae-metric" drag link? Cut an weld them together or have the threads chased on one side?
Are there any stock tie rods or steering arms with an attachment point for the drag link? Or do I need to buy them COTS?

Thanks for the link. But I am trying to get an overall view of this project.
I have a good handle on everything from the steering wheel down to the power steering gearbox.
But I am having a bit of trouble specifying the linkages.

have you looked at some of the links in this section from the FAQ?

Yes I have read through them. Lots of good advice but no clear path with specific components.

How much more specifics do you need? Theres nothing offered that is stk for the drag link with sag steering.. As referenced earlier, cruiseroufitters and others offer a drag link with sae threads for tre required for the pitman arm, And metric threads on the opposite end for the stk 40 tre. Or you can weld 1 up, which is a more dangerous option. These vendors also offer the tres and pitman arms to complete the project.

OK! I think that I have a handle on all this now. Thanks for your supporting a newbie like me.

If you haven't setup the steering box yet or purchased the steering box, look into fj60 steering, scout steering or fj80 steering. They'll all going to be custom, but they've all been done hundreds of times. Not everyone does it the exactly the same way. But all are similar. Faq's and the advanced search is your friend. Personally, prefer the scout/fj60/80 setups rathet than having the box out front and cutting up thr frt crossmember.

No, I haven't started thg he conversion yet. Heck, I haven6 owned it a month yet. I will have a look at your conversation recommendations. My only concern is that the parts may be expensive and hard to find.
