Hi Guys

I am sick of the lousy sealed beams on my FJ60. I am searching for one of SLCFJ62's headlight harnesses to fit H1/H4 an FJ60. He has unfortunately stopped making them and I can't seem to find a schematic or parts list anywhere online. So if anyone has a spare harness or a used one they'd part with please PM me. Alternatively if anyone can link to a schematic and parts list would be appreciated. I watch the classifieds forum as well but thought I'd try here first.

If your heart is set on that harness, I can't help you. But ARB makes an excellent plug n play harness for the 60 and the high beam indicator works as it should. I got mine at Cruiser Outfitters.

It works. I did the arb harness a few weeks ago. Very happy and surpassingly well built for a mass produced item.

@barefoot Wow! Sorry about that. I didn't read it(obviously) because I had just purchased one. I see that now that he is done.

X4 on the ARB loom from Cruiser Outfitters. Really easy install and yes, the high-beams work. The hardest part is deciding what bulbs and housings to upgrade to.

I was actually planning on going LED, either Trucklite or the JW Speaker, and with the ARB harness I'm concerned about the polarity being correct with the "hot common" on our FJ60's. That was why I was wanting the SLCFJ60 harness. Does the ARB harness handle that change so LED's work properly?

Cheers

ARB wiring harness + IPF housings + Osram bulbs = :D
When I installed an '84 FJ60 front clip on my '89 FJ62 (now the donor vehicle for my '86 FJ60 project) I did the wire swap to the headlights as mentioned in your article on fuel injecting an FJ60. If I ordered the ARB harness and IPF housings is there anything special I'd have to do with my FJ62 harness and FJ60 headlights?

No nothing special needs to be done since you did the wire swap for the FJ60 lights. In my FJ60 with the 3FE conversion I'm running the ARB harness with the converted FJ62 headlight harness, works just fine.

I didn't like my led bulbs with stock wiring. They ended up flickering and dancing to the power demands from my electrical system. The light output was great but there are compromises with the LED's and they really do need a proper harness.

Tons of light for $37, but not a complete solution.

I'm much happier With the ARB harness and 80/100w hella bulbs. That says a lot.

I've been emailing Daniel Stern Lighting. I'm aware I need more juice to power headlight upgrades, but the relay parts kit is 49$ (I need to assemble, solder, etc) or he offers a "custom" made harness for 173$. Then they recommended Cibie housing and at 158/pari, and high luminance bulbs at 43$ 60/55w. Will the ARB wiring harness be a better option to get started on my upgrade than the Stern pre-made? I'm gonna stick w/ halogen

Think there are plenty here that are happy with the ARB version, SLCFJ62 has a thread floating around with instructions, descriptions, etc. on how to build the harness if you are so inclined.

@HemiAlex How long have you been running your 80/100? I have been running mine for about a year and feel like lately they just aren't performing. Could be my cheapo RAMPAGE housings but have been looking at LED from Trucklite as an upgrade.

I've been running about 6 months. They're still doing great and I feel the Hella Housings are what is really making them work.

I'll probably buy another set of 80/100 to keep in the truck and run this indefinitely. A friend of mine just did the heated LED 7" lights and he is really impressed, but it was close to $500. I'll keep this cheap set up. I really didn't like how the LED lights looked on my truck. Too modern.
