Wonderful project, I really like your engine selection. I am a Diesel Lover and currently in the process of restoring a FJ40 in which I have gone for a 1HZ, though originally before I started I had decided for a 3B or a 13BT swap but then I got a good deal on 1HZ..
You seem to be an outdoor guy and a TLC 40 is a good choice you made...
Take care and God bless you/
Love the tires! That 1hz should be ablast in a 40. what part of the world are you in if you dont mind me asking?
Thanks everyone i really enjoy working on this thing im in a frantic rush as always trying to get this thing done before the trip. im wondering if i should paint the oil pan or go ahead and have it powder coated while its off which would take a couple of extra days. If im going to powder coat the pan a part of me tells me to pull the push rod cover and powder coat it while its easily accessible. If it had any kind of leak it wouldnt be a question but its bone dry. Im surprised that this 3b has no oil pan gasket or pushrod cover gasket it is actually glued on im assuming this is because the donor was an 1985 model. I do like the idea that it doesnt have gasket to deteriorate.
No I don't mind at all. I am in Pakistan(not rememberd for the good reasons) and got this Rig from a Military Auction.
Following is my restoration thread on a local website in case you are interested in going thru it

Thanks
Got the charge pipe cut down at my friends shop he got his new roller out and rolled a couple of beads on for me. Also welded the oil return fitting into the pan.
Went ahead and pulled the side cover so it can be powder coated. This picture shows the napa oil filter that is compatible with the 13bt manifold and upward facing oil filter housing. Thanks for the info Alberto.
Very cool thread your 1hz looks brand new!
