thats not even close to bad yet for a pig , most of ours were way worse

Well that makes me feel better I guess. That hole that has the black paint actually extends all the way around the roof, but jsut covered with fiberglass.
I figure that I get that confidence from fixing that hole by the back seat and then get after the roofline.

Sorry to hear about that crown, but sounds like you've got the right ideas cooking. Just weight the options on the roof as long as you can; and get after that hole in the Cpillar...

Got this done in the mean time.

I actually had some pride in my bandage box homemade circuit panel. That being said I like this new one better!

nothing wrong with either of those fuse boxes!

Got some new shoes!! STOKED!

I am running a 4speed and have 4.11s in the front and back. The tires are 34x10.5 on 17x9 rimms ( used to be 33x10.5 on 15" rimms). It seems as though the engine works better with this set up. I guess with torque and such. Does this make sense?

Whats the deal?! Sometimes I hear people say 4.11s and some say 4.10s. I have ff60 on the back and 62 up front. Is there a difference or are people just rounding numbers off? Are they 4.11s or 4.10s, or..?

you mean a FJ60 rear axle and an FJ62 front? If they haven't been regeared, you have differnet gears front to back. 34" tires (up from 33") will slow the truck down off the line a bit, but you'll have a bit higher top speed....but then, the larger tires take more power to stop.

Interesting paint job, is the rear cut up at an angle?

Also, what side mirrors are those?

I took the 3rd out of a rear 62 and put it in a ff60.
My back mounts were nonexistent. So I did some fabbing- whole rear sill and ran the side angle with some heavier gauge steel. The mirrors (marginally stoked on those) got from SOR. Way better than what the PO had tho.

4.10 is 41 tooth ring, 10 pinion. 4.11 is 37 ring, 9 pinion.

I always thought one was Chevy and one was typically ford.

Thanks. I was stoked how it came out!
I am pretty sure the 62 has 4.11s. Here is another question-
What's the difference between a differential and a third member.
It's funny because I had been told I have a third member bahhaahahah

the differential bolts to the third member; the third bolts to the housing...you can buy a third and drop it in, if you get a diff, you'll have to set it up in the third WITH its pinion...
I'm not sure if the 9.5 c ruiser pumpkins are 4.11 or 4.10...an fj80 has 4.10 gears in one end, and 4.11 in the other...I wouldn't consider those to be of different gearing for all intents and purposes; not enough to make a difference even on asphalt...HTH
that truck has come a long ways, C! lookin good!

they look to be FJ40 hard door mirors?

wow cool setup with the rear bar.. I have an ammo box i want to use for recovery gear but wasnt sure about securing it outside of the vehicle.. this is a great option for securing and mounting! keep up the good work!
