BTW...donno if you posted it or not, but what is the height on the seat cradle, from the floor to the bottom of the cradle?

Every day is a bit closer. I borrowed a knuckle centering tool so this weekend I will be setting up my knuckles. I have to buy new birfs, though some dumb PO ground the mini truck birfs to fit in the knuckle balls rather that the other way around. Thinking of Longs, but have to sell some stuff to raise the cash.
Money's getting tight slowing the project.

Keith, you're getting there. I don't remember the height of my seat, but it is at a perfect height for me. The bottom of my seat bracket sits about 1/2" over my gas tank. I'll measure it when I get home on Saturday.

Good luck on your knuckles, seems like I was just finishing mine. Sucks the PO caused you to have to buy new birfs. It will go by fast.

Hey Nick, might be heading to TX to visit my sister-in-law this summer. They live in El Paso (no idea why El Paso...). Not sure where we would fly through, but if I get a chance I'll think about heading your way for a look-see.

Steve, your more than welcome to swing by but it may be a long way out of your way. El Paso is about 10 hours from the Dallas / Fort Worth area, but again, you're more than welcome to come on by.

From the floor to the top of my seat cradle is 9". From the floor to the top of my seat cushion is 14".

The paint was a pain in the ass but I think I saved some money by doing it myself. It takes ALOT of patience and time and prep work is key. Lots of sanding and surface prep. My paint job isn't near perfect but I am happy with it considering it is my first time to ever paint anything like this.

Made some more progress. I dropped my 40 off at the local muffler shop and had a 40 series flowmaster installed as well as all my exhaust system. I think he did a very good job routing everything. I had him terminate the exhaust behind the rear drivers side wheel so that fumes don't billow back into the cab. I paid $368 out the door. I was torn between the 40 and 50 series and probably would go w/ the 50 series if I had it to do again. It sounds good but might be a little loud, but I'll get use to it.
I also dropped my windshield frame off at the local glass shop to have a new piece of glass installed along w/ new weather stripping. That should be ready on Wednesday. He did call me after i left and said my windshield has a crease in it that will have to be bent back to square to allow the windshield to fit properly. He said he thought he could do it w/ out chipping any of my new paint, but we'll see. He quoted me about $150 for all WS, windshield, and installation.
I have also been working on getting my VSS and autometer speed sensor working. I ordered a VSS from jags that run but had to send it back today after talking w/ the guys in the JTR office in order to get my auto meter speed sender to mount onto the VSS. I should have called beforehand and explained what I was trying to do. Would have saved me some time and a little $$. Oh well.
Lets see, what else. I bought and installed a new kickdown cable or TV cable for my 700r4. My old one was frayed and I didn't notice it at the time I installed my tranny. Would have been a lot easier to install it w/ the tranny out but I guess I like challanges, that and spilling about 4 quarts of auto transmission fluid all over my chest, arms, neck, etc. It really poured out of there, I sure didn't expect that. Looked like the Exxon Valdez broke apart in my garage!!! I'm trying to get my TV cable adjusted properly but had to make a bracket in order to get the cable to reach my throttle body. I'll post up some pics of my fabrication.
I also moved my temp sensor from on top of the intake manifold to the side of my drivers side engine block between cylinders 1 & 3. Again, sure would have been a lot easier to do this BEFORE I filled it up w/ fluid, but again, I like to make things harder than they should be. After I clean up my transmission oil slick, I had anti freeze running everywhere. Looked my floor had just been slimed by ...
Once I got everything flipped around my temperatures were more where I thought they should be. Temps around 180* vs. before I moved it around 205*.

I also bought a ALDL cable from ALDLcables.com in order to address any error codes I may be recieving w/ my TBI setup. My engine runs OK, but not perfect yet. I have to fine tune everything and try and find out where all the data I'm getting from the WinALDL program needs to be (what the acceptable ranges are). I took it to a mechanic shop the other day (on a trailer) after I had the exhaust installed to have my rocker arms adjusted. I've never adjusted them before and didn't know how tight they needed to be, I just new they were REALLY loose. He adjusted them as I watched and gave me some really good pointers on a few things. Worth the $50 I paid for the adjustment.
I'll get some more pics up later in the week. I still have a few things I need to do before it is road worthy. Adjust toe in, TV cable, finish torque converter lockup wiring, ...
