Looks like you were at the manasshole location. Don't trust them with service is all I have to warn you about.
Noted! I’ll use Tysons Koons as you’ve recommended before.

Here’s a great walkthrough video of the Tahara- Aichi, Japan production process for Assembly Plant No. 1 where they build the LC 200, the GX460, the Prado 150 and the 4Runner.

Interesting to note that they test all Lexus trucks, but only 1 out of 5 Toyotas, on the test track that is 4.4km (3 mi) long. Makes me pretty happy that my truck had 3 miles on it when it was delivered to Miller Toyota.

Yesterday I pulled my FJ62 around to the back of my house and it starting leaking coolant badly. Remember, it has a 5.3 Vortec. I looked underneath and it appeared to be coming from the water pump. This afternoon I pulled it around and pressurized the system to make sure it was not a hose and no leaking hose was discovered. But after running it for a while, no leak at all materialized. When it was leaking yesterday, it was leaking furiously. Thoughts? Water pump?

yep! that is about the only place they leak.

Interesting recipe for rust treatment and prevention:

Mix and spray:
- 4 oz blaster brand penetrator
- 12 oz auto trans fluid
- 1 oz dawn soap

I'd love to see the follow-on video that shows the treated areas vs. non-treated areas after a few time periods with rain etc...

Not to be contrarian, but to be contrarian:hmm::

I can say with authority that ATF and PB Blaster do not just "wash off with a pressure washer". It requires a degreaser... like Dawn? Uh oh...
Dawn is designed to encapsulate oil and grease, so while it may reduce the surface tension and allow the ATF to spray better, but it won't make the ATF/PB blaster stick better, especially after it rains and dissolves the Dawn.
ATF is essentially mineral oil with additives specifically for use in automatic transmissions.

This seems like another "internet miracle solution that isn't.

"Then there is this: The Environmental Working Group gave Dawn a 'D' grade because of it containing methylisothiazolinone, which is a "High Concern: acute aquatic toxicity; Some Concern: skin irritation/allergies/damage". ... Sounds delightful, right? Dawn also contains 1 4-dioxane which is considered a groundwater contaminant. "

Thanks, @Stumpalama Always good to have another pair of eyes on something like this. I’ll plan to stick with fluid film.

Or for frames, Woolwax is a good product for protection, though it is not an inhibitor. Ospho is the way to go.

I’ve used Krown as a preventative measure and would use Fluid Film or Wool Wax. Probably wool wax since I’ve heard it smells less.

They’re proven and really cheap if you do it yourself. I’m not sure why anyone would bother messing with a homebrew like that.

I’ve had good luck killing existing rust with ospho.

Has any tried Corroseal though? It looks like it might be easier to apply since it’s thicker and won’t run/drip off.

Good info here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...Vaw29qumgknVbE5phy-ZskrbM&cshid=1617733830464

Looks like Klein Strip Concrete and Metal Prep is the same as OSPHO, only cheaper.

Been busy check out the photo!!! Took the top and doors off the 40, earliest in the year that I've ever done that. Got four or five nice days topless already! It's so much more enjoyable to drive without the top, and she handles much better without all that added weight up high. It's tall enough as is!!!!
And what you see sitting on the engine stand is a 350 Pontiac engine. My son in law has a 72 Lemans sport that has sat for 17 years with a spun rod bearing. He has been talking about the car ever since I met him and I told him a few months ago that I'd pay for an engine rebuild. Took it to Ram's engines in the Reading area and they did a great job on it. Needed another crankshaft but the son in law had one, and the shop had to source another connecting rod. Bored .030" over, cleaned .010" off the heads, put a mild ram air cam in it and every other way freshened it up. I just did the Muncie transmission for it, it's a factory 4 speed car with bucket seats and console. Hoping to have the car running sometime in May there are other things that need addressed too.
Can you tell I've been selling land cruiser parts by what you (don't?) see in the picture?
