I clayed, polished, sealed and then waxed the 60s roof today. It was getting pretty nasty up there. Figure I’ll work my way from top to bottom in steps. One day I’ll pay someone to properly detail it and work on her pinstripes
I’ll pinstripe it for ya for free just let me drive it at Fall Crawl 🤣

With Fall crawl approaching I welded up my broken spring hanger. It’s just putting a bandaid on a bullet hole. But that’s how I role!

These inside welds are not so pretty but they will should hold.

I've been slowly learning the ins and outs of CNC. Here is a nameplate that I created in Fusion360, milled on a Tormach 1100M vertical CNC mill, painted, and then polished. It turned out pretty much exactly how I wanted it to. It's about 1.5" x 7.5" for reference. It's pretty amazing to be able to draw something up and then hold the finished aluminum piece in your hand!

Doing so pre-Fall Crawl maintenance/repairs...
Tightened the rear pinion nut a bit to take out the annoying "bang"/ slop. It had definitely loosened past the stake in the nut.
I also ordered a replacement driveshaft slip yoke seal from Tom Woods. They finally put their small parts on a single page and they can be ordered right from the site.
It was BEAT UP! and I had to pound the yoke to get it off. It was jammed to the shaft and surely wasn't good for the t-case.

well over the weekend I ended up getting a great deal on a triple locked 80 with a no motor parts car. the 80 is in good shape with an arb front bumper and a Kaymar rear bumper, solid frame and very minor rust on the body but the body on the parts car has no rust so that solves that problem.

got them both back to the house and began by fixing a exhaust leak at the down pipe and I swapped the hatches

next thing is I have to get the brakes working on the truck, shouldn't be to big of a deal seeing how all the calipers and soft lines are new. PO claims he just never got around to bleeding them

with all that said who needs 80 parts? lol

Damn, nice score! I'd be interested in the bumpers, and maybe the winch, if selling.

I plan on coming down to the swap meet...

It's strange that the PO installed bumpers, and never removed the running boards. :meh:

I wont be parting out that truck although once I get it sorted, it may go up for sale we will see lol, but the other one in the picks just about everything will be for sale

Understood.

How much for the windshield in the parts truck?

Nice score. Swapping the engine over to the new 80 or going with something bigger?

Put in trim spacers in the rear to get some rake back with the help of Matt.

Picked up the 4x4labs kit from powder coat today! Meeting up with @TRDdrew tomorrow to install the swing arms and get it ready to show off at "Mall Crawl 2020" aka the swap meet on Saturday.
