@emorth He wanted to bleed the system not drain it. @afgman786 you didn't mention what engine and what year. If you can safely remove one of the heater hoses and let it hang while you fill up the cooling system wait until coolant comes out of the hose that should bleed most of the air.

Ya think that might help?

Fill the rad and expansion tank with coolant and h2o or pre mix, leave the rad cap off, turn the heater to high and the fan, run the truck and he'll see when the thermo opens (coolant goes down) and start adding coolant to the rad as it runs and fills up. Squeeze the top rad hose as well intermittently, to ensure you are getting the air bubbles out.

I'll be working on it tomorrow. Need to replace the fuel pump tomorrow now

22re. Sorry, thought 1st gen T4R only had that option

So also noticed I'm rubbing at full lock. Heard it a few times after URE and never got a chance to look at it till this morning...

Q

Cut it out, or push it in, or let it self clearance. Not a biggie.

I'm more so curious if something got misaligned.. if these tiny tires are rubbing now I'll really be screwed with 33s. And I'm supposed to clear 33s no issue on stock setup

Working on the 200 at cousin's shop while he's working on a Ferrari

No worries man, I think it was 87 when they had the first V6 in the 1st Gen. T4R, I want to find a good one that I could play with the top off.

Put the rear 4.88 gear diff with a Lock right locker, new bearings, and seals. Ordered socked headed cap screws for the heavy duty diff cover.

Then onto the front. I have pulled the 4.88 diff and will need to drill new drive shaft holes. But should be a lot quicker than the rear.
I forgot to add I’m also going to replace the oil pan gasket and hope to finish my hydro assist steering.

I should start a thread for this vehicle.

So 600 miles after $$$$$$'s were spent on sway bars, new tires, some other odds ends.... and a week after I get the alternator squared away, i'm pretty sure the transmission is kaput.

Was on my way to work in the evening and Lexus started to make loud ticking/flapping noise, thought maybe rusted exhaust. Pulled over, no holes that I could see. Car wouldn't go over 20 and it fought hard to get there, like foot to the floor not moving. Had it towed. Engine runs fine as I idled for almost 2 hours waiting for a tow with a/c and radio on.

It never ends...

Plus side is a coworker said he'd give me a spare wheel for the 4runner, that'll save me $30 or whatever.
Really tempted to gather my sheckles and get a motor for the 4Runner and go for broke (literally- well i'm already broke but more broke?). Ideally I want to do the HGs, VCGs, TBelt and plugs while it's out.
Figure at a minimum doing the above i'm about $1,200 away from getting it on the road- motor, gaskets/tune up, used tires.
I was wondering if it was something exhaust related. The car would go in reverse fine, but over the past few months here and there it would shift hard after first starting up and i know this era of ES300's had trans problems so I figurd it was the trans.

It is at the shop now however I will pass the word along. Hopefully they are honest so we can make the recommendation to check the cat and resolve it. Mentioned trans problems on call to them before tow so ideally they won't take that and run. Stupid mistake.

Figure I would post a follow up to this for all who care, and for those who don't, keep reading anyways 🙃
Looks like the shop is honest and it is in fact the cat converter and not the trans that is having a problem. Whether or not they would have tried to sell a transmission replacement had I not picked the brains of 'mud is speculation at this point.
Irregardless, it makes me thankful to be part of the 'mud community, where I can seek input from those (@OTRAMM) much smarter than I in the world of automotive repair. Can't thank you all enough. Plan is to get the car tomorrow.
I think "brains of 'mud" would be a cool band name. I can play drums....

I had some quarter panels made for my latest project. 3/16 rolled corner not made with a brake, so they will follow the body lines without all the notches. I also made some rockers as well.

What do you think?

They look good Rob, like Bud's but smooth curves.

Nice! Had I known you were doing that, I would have pitched in for a set as well.
I've been eyeing up the Bud Built ones for a while, bit never pulled the trigger.
How much would a set go for, hypothetically, of course?
