Just getting it back on the road after a 2 year hiatus. No hard top yet so I only run it on sunny days. Mostly stock but does have 3.73's, HFS bumper, 2 inch shackle lift, and heated seats :grinpimp:

Slow Poke, Nice truck. Like the HFS winch bumper with roller fairlead. Uh... where's the winch? :D

40's!

did somebody say 40's?

here's me...

Oh I hear yah! Been dropping all kinds of hints. We'll see what santa brings....

I never understood the blurring out of the license plate, its not like its your social security number or anything, or perhaps in the outback it is your social security number:confused:.

Prior to the DPPA (Driver Privacy Protection Act), anyone could go into a DMV and in many cases, even on line, and obtain all the owners information on file with DMV. We all know where that can lead:(

Even now, although with the "right" connections (or licenses;)), that information is still available.

Hope that little information helps?

And in a lot of Aussie cases, the vehicles are not road worthy/engineerable, and the Department of Transport has been known to issue defect notices from pictures on the web or in magazines.

Lucy FJ55, nice ride, like the deer hauler rack on top............:D

( i could haul a lot of deer and wild hogs in that rack, down south.:D)

yea, but if you drive down the road everyone can see em then too...

there's also already personal info you can get from mud just by reading through somebody's posts. that in addition to a tag number would put you more at risk than just someone seeing your tag number driving down the road.

Here's how i got it in 2003. 64k miles with original F engine.

Here's how it looks now with a little $$ and time invested. The drive to work is only 5 miles.

It doesn't place you "more" at risk, just places you at risk in general.

As you said, a little while on a site, glean some info from the posts, check out the members profile for a DOB (or partial), start or review an "age" or similar thread, put it all together and go make an ID.

It's all relative to your level of "security" or paranoia, and who/why anyone would care?

Back to the thread.

Thanks Assassin. The PO used to hunt all over Oregon with this rig. There have been more than a few deer and elk hauled in the back of the rig! :)

Not really driven daily but at least weekly.
I have only had it since August.........I did have to drive it home 400 miles after picking it up from PO.
Only thing I did to it was build the roof rack, replace door handles, and brake booster.
It was WELL kept by PO.

It's Dune Beige 416. I think the actual code is at home but the paint is by Nason's and I just picked it out of the paint chip catalog. Hope this helped.

Here's a couple more pics. I did a springover on the M100 a couple month's ago.

I posted a pic in this thread a while back but have since made some changes to the old 40, so I thought I'd post another from a recent road trip from CO into UT and WY. This is in the Killpecker Sand Dunes OHV area. ...and i just thought it was a  picture.

That _is_ a  picture. Nice job either avoiding or photoshopping out your footprints.
