Anybody know where I can get these plastic fittings to hold the lock bars in place for the rear hatch lock assembly? I searched sentinel off road (www.sor.com) and couldn't find them listed. The bars keep falling out and I'm using electrical tape for the time being but would like to fix them correctly. Here are pictures. Thanks!

just had the same thing happen to me over the weekend. couldn't open the rear door from the outside.
i got s***ass lucky. i have a 62 hatch on a 60, so i had a spare waiting in the electric lock assembly.
a source for new ones would be handy however.

these little plastic parts may be only available in a full assembly.

My fix would be to get a bushing from brass made to fit in the bigger hole, and then drill a small hole in the end of the rod and use a cotter pin to keep it there.

Thanks for the post. I have been looking for a supplier of random clips and fasteners:clap:

I don't mind buying the parts from Amazon because I will break everyone but the last one to make my rear hatch work but has one bought this yet to see if it connects and is the right size?

Call Beno

Every Toyota uses similar linkage clips they should be easy to procure.

Hello all- resurrecting this thread as the rear hatch lock in my 87 FJ60 became stuck shut last weekend. I was able to get it to open once I accessed the rear lock from the inside but, based on pictures on several mud threads, the plastic clip circled below is broken.
I'm speaking to the backside of the plastic clip which seems to have broken off. @Landpimp posted some great pics in another thread (his blue cruiser below) so i get how it attaches, I just need help with finding the specific plastic clip.
There are several links in this thread for clips but they all look like the GREEN clip in the pictures below.
Can anyone provide any guidance on the highlighted white clip? I'm looking for either a Part number or link to aftermarket clip that works here. Any help would be appreciated- thanks!!

*edited to add the last picture from another mud thread that provides a view of the backside of the clip in question- thanks.

Auto wreckers. Most Japanese cars use these clips I bet you could get a handful in short order and have something that works.

Alternatively, you could remove the rod, drill a small hole through it, but it together with your broken plastic clip and push a small cotter pin through the rod.

The 'Automotive Help' section at your local auto parts store has Ford tailgate linkage clips, which often fit Toyota linkages. Many times, these are sold in an assortment and you can find what you need.

Obviously, OEM is best, but in a pinch, there is other stuff out there that works.
