Doing a rear axle refresh on my 62, pulled the bearings to see some damage on the inner lining of the axle tube where the bearing gets pressed in... Anything to do about this? Or should I just slam a new bearing in there and run it? Is the axle bearing the type that doesn't need a new race since it appears to be kind of combined like a roller bearing?

If that is just the axle tube with a steel sleeve in which the bearing gets pressed, I'd say clean it and get a new bearing in there and you should be good.

Yes that is just the axle tube, the original bearings were pulled out and the new bearings look exactly like the ones in the photo you showed. The new bearings are ready to go, just wasn't sure if the wear/damage in that steel sleeve needed any attention.
