Kermit the Frog sang a song - "It's not easy being green!"
Youtube link - very fitting for FJ40s
YouTube - sesame street - its not easy being green

Lyrics to "It's Not Easy Being Green"

It's not that easy being green;

Having to spend each day the color of the leaves.

When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold...

or something much more colorful like that.

It's not easy being green.

It seems you blend in with so many other ord'nary things.

And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're

not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water

or stars in the sky.

But green's the color of Spring.

And green can be cool and friendly-like.

And green can be big like an ocean, or important like a mountain,

or tall like a tree.

When green is all there is to be

It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why?

Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine, it's beautiful!

And I think it's what I want to be.

Hello, does anyone know a modern color code equivalent to 1028 Spring Green?

Im having trouble finding a decent match.

Also, here's a pic of our 1980 light olive FJ40

What gets mixed is a little darker than the original paint you see today. 40 + years of sunlight will do that. You can take a kick vent you like in and have that matched.

I believe youre right. I´m actually ok with it being slightly darker in tone, but I have nothing to compare it to.

I´m currently waiting on a sample of a color picked off of a catalog, but if that fails, I´m going to ask them to match a lemon sorbet I saw a few days ago (lol) which is as close as ive seen to that color as I can think of. Maybe I can get closer using that.

Here is mine. :) We matched the factory green to the closest match they offered for powder coating. The front half is painted and the doors and tub is Aqualu. They are just powder coated. Once it came back and test fit. It matched so well I decided to leave it until I get it scratched on the trail then paint the rear.
