Interestingly it feels like it is pulling when In low gear and no foot on gas and in gear
Here is an example
In2nd gear. No foot on gas it should not be keeping a steady speed…and feel like it is torquing along forward
I am not sure. I "think" it was to slow the closing of the throttle when you took your foot off the gas. or something like that. I never fully understood it or was sure it was working. I just took mine off.
Yes. It seems off.
1. So I discover a small nick which grew big very quick on my clutch line before the slave.
I was hoping that was a problem maybe the couch was keeping engaged or something. Nope. Not it after replacement and...
Throttle Positioner = TP
Choke Breaker = CB
Both the TP and CB are connected to the same diaphragm. In countries with only the CB this diaphragm is directly connected to the base of the carb. In countries with the TP you have a valve on the...
I’ll add a couple pics from our trip including one of my buried LX. WiscoGX’s LC pulled me out with ease but that section of the trail was a swamp with evidence of people getting stuck before us. I would do this trail again tomorrow if I could.
The idle screw does function fine
Yes all capped ports except to dissy
I took it apart last night. It looks like maybe some schmutz kept the secondary cracked open a bit. More than what it should be but on a little. This may do it? But...
Whistle is back for me now. Pretty sure it is base of carb. Too bad it is as snug as I can make it
The intake may be warped and using sealant is likely useless. I might try to take it off and reinstall
That will work 4th time is the charm
I didn’t mention it is desmogged and that diaphragm gets no vacuum …
Is effectively I don’t thi it does too much. But I will try to move both all the way in and all the way out….. and see what happens.
1978 fj40!stock carb
It seems like while decelerating and in gear. I get some torque to the wheels as if the intake is still getting gas the car stutters and feels like tourque moving the fj40 forward
I can start from second gear and not...
I’ve had a few jeeps, YJ’s and TJ’s but have never been a waver. Same on my Harley, never been a waver. I’ve been passed by so many other jeeps or Harley’s while stuck on the side of the road with a breakdown; they all just wave and drive by. Not...
Will check t house mounts!! But
Update—. While in gear… 20 mph or so… with foot off gas. It seems to still jerk forward like it is still getting gas. ….
