Color matched to the job you use to doHi! New here! Had an 83 FJ40 and sold it. Buying a 69 FJ40 and going to SoCal to pick it up. Here's a pic: View attachment 2567064

Decided on a nickname: MUD SLOTH! Why: Mud is obvious for the PNW. And sloths are the only mammals that are naturally green (They have an algae that lives in their fur).Hi! New here! Had an 83 FJ40 and sold it. Buying a 69 FJ40 and going to SoCal to pick it up. Here's a pic: View attachment 2567064

They are really getting hard to find because they haven't been on the market for about 25-30 years.Love the brush guard
exactly, when I bought mine I had an earlier confer one that SOR used to sell. Similar to what they sell now, just not as cool as the aussie style one I am looking for. I like the design of yours as its like a headache rack on a big truck. They are really getting hard to find because they haven't been on the market for about 25-30 years.
So you have a green FJ
Any shade - any age - any condition
Do you have any pics? Please post them.
Any details of your truck would help.
Kermit the Frog sang a song - "It's not easy being green!"
Youtube link - very fitting for FJ40s
YouTube - sesame street - its not easy being green
Lyrics to "It's Not Easy Being Green"
It's not that easy being green;
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves.
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold...
or something much more colorful like that.
It's not easy being green.
It seems you blend in with so many other ord'nary things.
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
or stars in the sky.
But green's the color of Spring.
And green can be cool and friendly-like.
And green can be big like an ocean, or important like a mountain,
or tall like a tree.
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why?
Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine, it's beautiful!
And I think it's what I want to be.
Teeth to the wind,
Sno Dawg
You will want the early hinges, since you have wipers on top. The later hinges clear the wiper box on bottom. Great looking 40!View attachment 2569579I found this in KS at Landcruiser Restorations. Jim didn’t do the original mod but has been great to work with bringing the exterior back to life. If someone needs the color info let me know. Shipping out to us next week. Have not put my eyes on it yet, but stoked for its arrival.
one question I’ll throw out...I want to put hinges back on windshield instead of the brackets that previous ownership installed. The title says it’s a 74 but I’m not sure if it’s late or early and which hinges work. Any keen FJ eyes out there could hopefully point me in the right direction.
