Hi! New here! Had an 83 FJ40 and sold it. Buying a 69 FJ40 and going to SoCal to pick it up. Here's a pic:

Decided on a nickname: MUD SLOTH! Why: Mud is obvious for the PNW. And sloths are the only mammals that are naturally green (They have an algae that lives in their fur).

They are really getting hard to find because they haven't been on the market for about 25-30 years.
exactly, when I bought mine I had an earlier confer one that SOR used to sell. Similar to what they sell now, just not as cool as the aussie style one I am looking for. I like the design of yours as its like a headache rack on a big truck.

one question I’ll throw out...I want to put hinges back on windshield instead of the brackets that previous ownership installed. The title says it’s a 74 but I’m not sure if it’s late or early and which hinges work. Any keen FJ eyes out there could hopefully point me in the right direction.
You will want the early hinges, since you have wipers on top. The later hinges clear the wiper box on bottom. Great looking 40!
