Thanks, that’s my custom Voodoo Grey. It’s pretty close to dark machine grey but with a deeper color.

I’ve been buying these:Great job! i am about to dive into my patina project (still sitting in NJ) aptly named "Tina" the interior is the first color to remove, and I may just try what you used. What grit Scotchbrite pad did you use?
That’s good patina. Faded blue is classicView attachment 2692915
Not sure if rust qualifies as patina, but this is one of the crustiest rigs I’ve ever owned. I’ve embarked on a rehabilitation project to replace all rust with welded in 14ga sheet. I’ll keep as much of the oxidized Horizontal Blue finish intact as possible.
I don’t even see any rust.View attachment 2692915

Awesome. The picture is taken from its best possible angle. The frame is good, the body is good from the firewall forward, but the tub is shot. I’ve made a friendly bet with a buddy that I can bring the tub back to life without buying a single reproduction panel. I picked up a cheap bead-roller and dolly set from Eastwood and make my own metal brake. Started with the lift gate and barn doors now I’m reconstructing the rear body. So far, so good!View attachment 2693131View attachment 2693132View attachment 2693133View attachment 2693134
So
I pulled this 78 out of a garage after 23 years. As you can see the original mustard yellow is there on the inside and the PO painted rustic green and dune beige. The yellow is underneath both. I did some routine maintanance , replaced cooling system and this is running and driving real well. Originally sold in Medford OR then licenesed in AZ. The rust is in normal places but not nearly as bad as I thought
question: is there a preferred paint stripper or cleaner that I can use to just get the green and beige off without trashing the yellow?
thanks
Go back to page 28 on this thread. About halfway down @ben edwards has a process to get his back to Capri Blue. It may work for you?
I’m a sucker for yellow. Start as least aggressive as possible to see what works. My po rattle canned over the yellow. Easy off oven cleaner agitated with scotch brite pad worked for me. Good luck!So
