Well guys, the Dirtbag patina FJ40 that started this thread got a little bit of a bath, and I think the ugly duckling is more like the ugly-ish belle of the ball now! I'm surprised at how well she cleaned up, but she still has a bit of quirk. I left the smiley face on the hood for the lols. Check out the newest pics... Oh, and it's for sale! Spotted it while driving around today. It was just visible from the road. I doubt that it has moved in years and I doubt that it ever will.

Here is our 71. Has sat in our shop yard since 2006. Before that out in open w no top full of pine straw and beer cans. My daughter and I will be resurrecting her. Father/daughter project. Mechanical only. Rust will remain. I think we will call her “Patina Queen”. I have to find a carburetor for it. Took it off long ago and don’t know where it is. Motor is a 78 that was “freshly” rebuilt before being parked.

Here is the seat hole. Easy fix.

Also you can tell the person left it out with the dash pad on. There is rust where the pad was on the dash

Heres my 1976 fj55. Finally got her running after having a HUGE hole in the block when I first picked her up. A "new" motor and a ton of work later she's a runner!! Check out the video of the final stage of her coming back to life.
