Tried to join the 37s club but 2 of my 5 are now backordered. I can't find anyone who has them now. No clue yet as to when the last two will be shipped either. Figures LOL....
What tire?

NICE, I like the white top.
3" OME is that 850J or 850?
What bump stops did you end up with?
Thanks! Paint wasn’t looking good up there so I went with plastidip until I get around to actually repainting it.
Not sure which OME’s they were installed by previous owner. I think I measured at one point when I took them out but can’t remember which ones they are, ha, oops!
Just put the tires on so I’m going to start playing with bump stops. Most likely just gonna follow what Adam did with BoxRocket.

Toyo Open Country MT 37x12.50x17.
Toyo are awesome tires, but I have recently swapped mine for the new Yokohama Geolander G003 mud terrain and they are not only a bit lighter, but a really nice tire that looks to be very similar to the Toyo. I'm not running 37's, but the 35 x 12.5 x 17 were considerably cheaper per tire ($70 or so). You may want to check em out!

Those were my other choice. My son has Geolander 35s on his Gladiator and they look pretty sick.

They are lighter as well, and I think they have the same load rating and sidewall strength?

cheers

Cancel your order and get something else. Toyo's are a great street tire that look like an off-road tire. The only vehicles I see using them are lifted diesel pickups that are highway queens. The closest they get to off-road use in my neck of the woods is towing a side by side or rock crawler to Sand Hollow or Moab. But none of the buggies or jeeps on the rocks will have Toyo's mounted. Compare them to some nitro's trail grappler mt's or wrangler mt's of the same size and ask yourself why do they weigh so much less?

I have tried toyo's twice over the years and both times I was extremely disappointed. I put a lot of dirt miles on my tires.........

I'm seriously considering cancelling as you suggested and returning what I have already. The Geolanders or the trail grapplers were my other choice anyway.

I swear the majority of the show trucks or whatever you wanna call them are on nitto mt's here...and we have a LOT of them

Sounds like it’s too late, but the Yokohama G003s are bad ass.
Good thing is I bought them off Amazon so I'm still in my return window for the 3 that showed up.

The Geolandars are also hard to find right now. I have a set of 4 being shipped to me now in 315/75r16. They were the last set of 4 available through TireRack. My 5th one will show up in a few weeks due to back order. Only one of my local tire places could get a set, and they were charging a premium for them.

Yep confirmed 60 day wait minimum on the Toyo's. Any thoughts on these? Otherwise I'm just going to going with the 35" Geolanders since I know I can get them.

My experience with those is in size 40 and less than 5k miles so cant really comment.

I just checked where I got my Yokohamas from a couple months ago. Only one in stock.🤬

They do have these which seem to have good reviews online:

I have to disagree. I've run the Nitto's and the Wrangler MT Kevlars multiple times. Both are good tires. In fact the MTR Kevlar has been my favorite tire for several years and it performs great except on hardpack winter roads. However, I'm on my second set of the Toyo MT's because they have worked so well. I do thousands of offroad miles a year and the Toyo has had better traction, has been more durable, less understeer, better wear pattern and tread longevity, better in the winter and quieter. Only downside is the weight but I'm happy to deal with a heavy tire for the other performance benefits. They have surpassed the MTR as my favorite tire.

Better wear for sure (Open country), I liked the mud grapplers better in the mud, they lasted alright but didn’t wear as evenly. Neither were great in the winter but I did stud the grapplers and then they were awesome for ice.

Had the old style of geolanders (two different sets) of the older chevron directional style both wore very uneven, moderate to lesser lifespan, but worked better in the winter then the others.

I like the looks of the Gladiator tire in 42’s and the continental MPT 42-43” tires next set. (Have another set of iroks for the 80, haven’t run the yet, half worn 17/14/42’s

Well after much drama, looks like the place found 2 more so they should be here in about a week LOL.

@Box Rocket Thanks for the input. I had seen you were running the Toyo's so figured they must be pretty decent. These will get tested out in a few months at a meet in Tennessee and I'll report back. Of course obligatory pictures as well once they're on the truck for this thread....

Cool. Remember that tire pressures have a big effect on how a tire performs in different situations. A lot of people that switch to the Toyos don't adjust the tire pressures they are used to running with other tires. The Toyo sidewalls are much thicker and need lower pressures to flex the sidewalls and get them to work like other tires that don't have sidewalls that are so stiff.

I did the chalk test with the tires on my truck to find the right street pressure. I run then daily at 25psi based on that test. Offroad, where I would normally run 15-20psi with another tire, I run 12-15psi with the Toyos.
