Finished up a little "bling" project. I have been planning to replace the rusted vacuum advance line and didn't want to use tie wraps to secure it. I struck out online looking for twin separator clamps that would fit, so I made them myself.

I think they look good.

Another item on my list of things to do is rehabing my distributor. The screw for the points is nearly stripped and I don't trust that it'll hold gap. I purchased a replacement plate from @4Cruisers last June. So today I disassembled the top down to the weights, cleaned it out, lubed it and reassembled with the new plate. Everything is holding nice and snug.

I plan to reinstall it and re-clock it so it does not interfere with the oil filter.

Picked up a motor from @Guster on Monday and have been going through bags of hardware. Found a pair of stock spacers. Great cad plating. Free with your next order.😉

It's funny, when I was working on the distributor, I had a light shining on the side cover of the block and noticed this bolt. Pretty sure it's one of two and should have been put into to correct holes.

Speaking of "my next order". I am beginning the hunt for a pair of Jump Seats. Not in a huge hurry for them, but they are on the list.

seat reference

from cruiserparts.net, one of the best jumpseat references I've seen:

Jump Seat FAQ:

There are 6 total different jump seats.
#1 - 1963 - 1969, long style with 2 bolt holes per a leg
#2 - 1970 - 1973, long style with 1 bolt hole per a leg.
#3 - 1973 - 1975, Short style for roll bar, bad tendency to brake at joints.
#4 - 1976 - 1977, Short style, for roll bar, slightly better bumper design. Still breaks easily
#5 - 1978, short style, excellent for all earlier years, black and has a fold down support leg.
#6 - 1979-1981, short style, It is a bit updated from the 78 style. Steel bottom plate is at edge instead of inset.
#7 - 1982-1985 short style, updated and a smaller fold down leg.

Can’t quote the dimensions or measure for you at the moment. That sounds right for a short seat.

The above is a good ref:

Your 75 should have come with a short style seat.

I’ve got one off of my truck right now if you want to test fit it. I think we went through and measured at one point yeah?

We never got around to measuring. But great. I have to resolve an oil leak before I get it back on the road. Going to look at that this afternoon.
I’ll be home tomorrow from out of town.
Just me and Augie this weekend.

The Welsh plug on the front of the engine was leaking. I knew I had an oil leak, but it took me a while to narrow it down. I finally washed the block and oil pan so I could see what was happening.

This was happening:

So a diversion into another thread brings me back here. After cleaning everything and puting a thin film of oil proof sealant around the rim, I took Mark's @65swb45 advice. I removed the air cleaner so I had some room to work, and hit it with a ball peen hammer. 3 times. Just sharp taps really. I let the sealant cure and fired it up. No drips, no runs, no oil.

Finally, I tried every possible orientation of the distributor to clear the oil filter and none worked. So after a chat with @4Cruisers (and another with Jim C) I decided to move the vacuum port on the advancer so I can keep using it. This is what I have tonight. I'll let the sealant cure tonight and reinstall it tomorrow. The cool thing is an 8mm bolt fits in the port perfectly as a plug.
