So the new job job and training for the Ironhorse Classic bike race has kept me out of the garage for a while.
I got inspired by all the others making progress on their pig projects so I dedicated the day to playing catch up.
My transfer case got rebuilt some time ago but I never put it all together for its final installation. I thought I needed to get at least one of the incomplete items done. It's now in its final resting place (unless I find something I screwed up). I only had one trip to the hardware store to replace missing parts caused by my neglect and disorganization. (Detent ball for shift pin)

I then started skim coating body panels while my 40 sat watching.

I'm leaning toward something in the Toyota family like the new FJ Cruiser army green. All one color as a retro special edition theme. Black wheels and bumpers would look good with the color.
My son is trying to convince me to go two-tone with a cream accent. The original white is too stark for what I envision.
Sounds good. Color picking is one of the hardest things, for me, to do. I do like the two tone idea.
Can't wait to see it in paint.

Colors are easy, rattle can black. And if you want two tone, use duplicolor black on the bottom and krylon black on top. Boom!

Well I had good intentions to spend quality time with the pig, until I made a wrong move washing my car and now the back is all screwed up.
Given I couldn't crawl around and do much heavy work, I decided to face my fears! The wiring harness for my 5.3L. I sat on the patio and removed the loom and researched all that I need to do. Doesn't seem as challenging as I feared.

Oh Man, looking at all that wire gives me the willies.

I continued with the wiring harness. I'm not sure about this. I have a computer science education but this scares the crap out of me. Too complicated but I can't cause myself to part with the money to buy one already done.
Cross my fingers and hope it all works in the end. Anyone recommend someone for PCM programming for standalone?

Also spent time working on seat mounting and some body work. Boy these body panels are wavy from the factory or I'm too much of a perfectionist.

98 degrees is too hot for the garage so I spent the time completing wiring the harness relays and fuses. Done from the comfort of my leather chair.
98.... It has been unusually cool for us this summer. Haven't had a day over 95 all year. Practically need a jacket. Your old pig is still sacrificing itself. I am glad to have it.
