More evidence why the LX is quieter than the Land Cruiser (1 Viewer)

Ok, coming back to this thread.
I ordered the fender to cowls via Ayayama and it looks like my 99 MY does NOT have the holes to install them.
Go figure - should have checked closely before ordering them.
So I'll put them up on the Classifieds here in a day or two.
:(
You could just drill them yourself and touchup with a primer & paint pen. I did that for the seal on the leading edge of the rear doors.

The sun was out today so wasn't as cold.
I was able to see how they fit after removing the screws.
I think I might try some double sided tape and see if that works.
It's a tight fit, but don't think there is a good angle to drill a few holes.
If I don't go this route I'll sell them to someone who is interested in purchasing them.
I got a PM yesterday by a couple people who are interested.

I did this mod a few weeks back on my 2007 Landcruiser. Had my doubts that it would make much difference from a noise standpoint. But after driving for a while, I must say that it does provide for a quieter ride.

I installed these on my 2001 LC a few days ago. Ordered all the parts from Lexus of West Kendall. The parts were on back order when I ordered them, but were shipped to me a few days later. I didn't drill any holes, just used some tape where the holes were missing at the top. The front cowl and passenger door seals fit pretty well even without the tape, though. I think it did make a difference on the highway. All the parts did come with the necessary clips, so the clips aren't needed (as stated earlier in the thread).

Well worth Lexyfying the LC. I did the door seals noted, dynomatted the rig from front to back including the roof also upgraded the windscreen to a Lexus screen (when I needed to replace because cracked) as it has the sound deadening technology built into the screen. The sound comfort levels (NVH) were much better, especially on longer trips.
When you replaced the 2 complete rear door seals did you just unbolt the door check to get them on?

Saving this..

Checked my 2000 lc tonight at 70mph with a phone app and it says 73db.. already fully sound deadened. With ridge grapplers, tent/ awning.

It’s not loud, but it’s not quiet. I’ll spend a little money for some improvement

I followed ordered the parts from Amayama earlier in the month and got them yesterday and installed them. The door ones were super easy.

The front cowl ones were tricky but I was able to get them secure following the advice from a poster above. I found you can sneak the middle clip in from outside with the door all the way open. I was trying to insert it from between the door and car and there was no space for my hands or pliers.

Excited to see if it makes a difference on the highway. Just driving around town it seems quieter.

Yes, that was the only way I could figure out how to get them on.

I have a 2002 LX… and it does not have the door leading edge seals, upper or lower.

Apparently these seals were not factory on all LX 470 years.

Anyone know if these seals were part of an upgrade package?

Props to pulling this p/n list together. I look forward to making out '04 LC even more quiet.

One observation though. While I was looking at the pictures and comparing to my 04 LC I noticed I have an additional weatherstrip that goes between the crack on the B pillar on the top half. I was curious about where to drill the hole and it seems I already have it and the pin is already in place holding the bottom edge of the top half of the stripping in place.

Does anyone know the part number of this upper weatherstrip for the B pillar? (Gap between front and rear door)
This weatherstrip is not present on the 98-2002 LX I believe.

6787160080 Door Seal (Right, Rear)
6787260080 Door Seal (Left, Rear)

They are complete door seals so it'll replace the seal around the whole door. You'll also have to drill a hole for that plastic clip, not sure if it's included, the answer might be in this thread.

Didn’t realise this weatherstripping was different from 98-02 with the seal on the B pillar gap between doors.
I’ll look at it thank you!

Installed the 06/07 front and rear door weatherstrips on my '00 LX. All plastic gromets are in the same location except for the additional mounting point for the B pillar weatherstrip. The rubber seals the gap around doors a lot better. My doors require more force to shut than it used to as a result.
