Squeaking in another lap of the country before handing it off 😎. Replicating the precious lap and currently in Northern NV. Driving great, no codes, accidentally breezed up to 80 multiple times (was more difficult before). I think I might need...
My lines are currently capped and I'm hoping to replace the rear lines with flexible rubber hoses sometime in the future from somewhere like coldhose.
Definitely do not cut the lines in the engine bay. There's a good spot the PO did it that was...
My steering got much better once I got the wheel to fender heights in spec. I think a little rake really helps the front end stick to the ground and eliminate any wander.
Not mine, but cross posting for a local. I've check it over and it looks good, maintenance records present, TB done @100k. AHC, center locker, and sunroof all work. VGRS is not an issue, brake booster (looks) good. Drives well. Rust is minimal on...
Just got her back from the body / paint shop, had some rust along the grille fixed! Getting everything cleaned up, and ready for the drive from Michigan to Montana tomorrow!
In another thread I saw something about a Meta Harness that helps you keep your current speaker wires and have that attach to your after market amp.
Edit: said thread: LX470 2004 | Need help with Android Screen -...
You can rent a ball joint separator from any auto parts store. You’ll likely need it. Replacing the entire control arm assembly is certainly faster/easier than removing and pressing new bushings. Plus oem ball joints is nice.
I’m no mechanic...
Lots of opinions on that top shock cushions. I have the parts but I haven’t had the time to attack it yet. With a rusty rig, I’m planning on something not going to plan. I’d love to get them done though, they are pancakes and visibly cracked.
I can agree with all of this. Could probably be added to the FAQs. I've done most of this and the ride quality has changed a ton. I remember when i first drove it with new rear control arms and panhard bar. Noticeable difference. For AHC folks...
This is my opinion based on my experience replacing all of these. These are in order of impact.
For nice tracking down the highway
Steering rack qty 2
Rear control arms qty 8 for upper and lower.
Panhard bar, qty 2
Upper control arm bushing...
It's scary how happy he is when he wants to do something stupid.
HAHAHAHA ... NO
I'm saying no ... Andy is telling him to send it.
It's fine, this will be just fine.
... and he's down. I have no words ... missed the pic of him nose down...
Huge difference. Sport is borderline uncomfortable in the city as it is so firm, but the body is so controlled in corners that tires become the limit (damn the driving nannies). Comfort is like a late 70s Caddy...very soft and floaty.
There is a big difference between modes when the system is properly maintained and working properly. I love AHC. It’s a shame folks rip it out when sometimes it’s just a minor problem.
You're leaving performance on the table. I flip the AHC mode knob on a daily basis. "Comfort" on surface roads to soak up the potholes, "sport" on the twisties, and middle for the interstate.
She took a few branches to the dome from a rotten tree (not my tree). Shattered the windshield, scratches and dented several panels. The roof was covered in damage from branches landing between the crossbars, but thank god for the roof rack for...
