lol, i like the exhaust. and are you not running a traction bar?

:hillbilly: thanks man, I thought the exhaust was pretty clever.

No trac bar yet. I have the kit from Ruffstuff and have not had a chance to get it put on. I should probably get on that. I've been good thus far because of how stiff my rear springs are *knock on wood*

yea i threw mine in 2 low the other day on the street and "power" braked it and i didnt see it but i could feel the wrap and it cause it to hop pretty good a couple of times. i let off of it and it may be ok on a couple of easier trails but definitely something i need to address cause i know how i like to make it up whatever im pointing at.

Definitely something I have to do as well. I am going to integrate it into my tube skidplate that I've been dreaming up, hopefully with a johnny joint on the end so as to not limit articulation.

love the wheeling pix, makes me wanna go out and play...havent done that for a while... just doing the ski-doo and arctic cat these days, but none of the three i have seem to manage the abuse i'm used to put on the 60... they're all standing still now... keep it up!

good idea on the hilift mount!

when we were discussing the flex pipe....I said I have a section in mine as well. However, mine was only 12 inches to connect the split to the single 3inch......wow!!! you must have 6 feet!!!! LOL

I love it.

howd the interview go? new job?

I hear you. Back in middle school and high school, my uncle would take a couple of us on week long trips, living off the sled at different hotels for a week at a time. Those 1400 mile trips were amazing. Ski-Doo's only!!!

Thanks man!

I hope you start that new job soon! I wish I were able to start a business of my own but it's not in the cards right now. Too much student loan debt :bang:

So my friend Joe has offered an 80 series AT cooler which I will use for my PS system. It should work well and I'll pick it up tomorrow. Thanks Joe!!

I saw a listing in the classifieds for an electric Taurus fan that would fit the 60 radiator. Is there any real advantage to having an electric fan over a mechanical fan? How well do they do when submerged in water? I don't plan on taking Moonshine swimming anytime soon, but I didn't plan on it happening the first time:lol: Thanks guys!

An engine driven fan will move 10x the air of an electric fan. No need to do that.

The 80 series tranny coolers are super high quality and will make a great power steering cooler.

Thanks for the advice Drew.

My plan for the PS system is to eventually install a hydro winch hooked up to my Saginaw. Should I add a reservoir when I put the cooler in to increase capacity or is it not really needed? The AT cooler looks like it has a ton of volume.

thanks man i hope so too, the full time job is what im relying on to fund my business for a while.

the electric fans can be shut off during water crossings so that is a plus as sometimes if the clutch doesnt disengage on a mechanical it can pull it into the radiator and tear it up, yes even with a plastic fan, ive seen it before. also electric fans will free up some HP that you will probally feel when driving, but my opinion is on something like this my mechanical will stay. one less thing to short out. :meh: some people love them, some people hate them.

Thanks for the advice Drew.

naw you should be fine with just the cooler on there.

dude... get crackin I wanna see the rear bumper on!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
When was the last time you drove your 60? I wanna see that BB in and running by July!!!

I've gotta find time to do some welding on it. I'm gonna grind off some of the welds and throw some of my own beads on, then put it up. I think I'll make the hitch support extend up the frame to where the quarter panel parts bolt to the frame so the bumper kinda sandwiches the frame. Clear as mud?

Gotta fxxxing deal with my rear axle again. The stupid bearings loosened up so I've gotta coax kevin into showing me how to properly set the preload. I'm thinking I'm gonna pull a freds40 and put a narrowed + shaved 14b under the rear, with the LCWizard sleeves for the front axle. 63" WMS w/ tons sounds better than 58 or whatever it is now.

Also, one of my fraternity brothers has a set of 37x12.50 swampers that I may try to pick up:hmm:

to set your preload go tight as s*** while spinning the wheel and just keep going tighter and tighter till you cant anymore then back off about 1/8th of a turn and you should be golden. Its always worked for me and all of my customer vehicles which is a couple of hundred or so at this point. i had the same issue with my 60 on 1 side a few years ago and untill i did just that it kept coming back, now i have no problems.

So at RIT we have an annual festival called Imagine RIT where all the school's clubs and departments put out all there stuff for the 25k local residents and prospective students to observe. I'm a member of the RIT offroader's club and we're going to have a display on top of a boulder here at school in addition to an RTI ramp that we borrowed. Yesterday we were playing around on it and I took a couple of pictures. I scored a 670, but when I got out it rolled down the ramp a couple of inches. Not bad!! The driver's front spring is just past inverted and the passenger rear spring is shaped like a W while taking these pics.

On an unrelated note, in my welding class we learned to TIG weld aluminum and I tried to take a pic of my partner welding a couple of pieces up. This is what the pic came out like, I thought it looked pretty cool.

Also, I'm looking at purchasing a 4Runner to motor around in for the summer so I can finally take moonshine apart. I would love to swap in a new frame this summer but we'll see.

Great idea! Loved my old 4runner. Been thinking about getting a banged up Subaru sometime so I can put a little gas money into cruiser repairs.

Me and a buddy (with a yard) just bought a 60 for a parts truck this week, so I'm going to have to figure out some temporary transportation too. Now that I have a running 2F...:hmm: 2F-E? And I'm still working on lining up the kit to rebuild Moonshine's old tranny. Blew all the cruiser money on our trip to Mexico in Feb. :meh:
Keep up the good work bud! Moonshine and the Speakeasy Boys will ride again! :steer:

 excellent man. You should without a doubt build a 2F-E. It would be the easiest swap for you since you already have the drivetrain assembled out of the 60. Pull the head off and put it under the 3FE head in your 62 and you're golden.

Are you planning on going wheeling anywhere this summer?

I've been experiencing some pretty awesome vibes lately while driving anywhere above 35 mph, kind of a rumbling that directly corresponded to vehicle speed. I thought it was my wheel bearings and was planning on pulling the axles apart before I went home. Well I emailed Kevin about it and he suggested that it might be my u-joints, so I checked and of course, that's exactly what it is. My rear DC has got some pretty good play in it and even loosened the driveshaft bolts to finger tight at the TC ( spec is 90 ft-lbs ). Gotta buy some new u-joints and get them put in ASAP.

Going over to Kevin's this Saturday to start installing my new rear bumper. Whohoo!!
