Lots of randomness today. Welded some pinholes on the exhaust manifold, welded on a plate and cut two 1/8" npt ports in the intermediate charge pipe for future sensors.

Pressure washed and degreased the head.

Cut all of the rocker stands on the mill. Turns out the instruction sheet in the arp stud box has the milling dimensions, shoulda opened it earlier

Bottom tapped all the stud holes in the block. That took a while.

Copper coated the cometic gasket and installed all the studs.

Today was a lot of work.

Outsourced most of the turbo kit sandblasting, but I needed to do the head, and touch up the repairs I had to do. Today was that day.

Bought a little 50# bucket sandblaster thing and went to work. Took about three hours and 40# of media to do the head and touch ups.

The cold side parts got cooked at 300* for 20min to get any remaining garbage out as well.

Finished prepping then shot the burnt bronze air cure cerakote. Two coats on everything. Pretty stoked how it came out.

It went on looking very gooooooooold, but then cured to a more muted bronze. I'm very happy.

This is 30ish minutes into curing. Sunlight is different I know, but the color is more muted.

Funny how some of the colors cure. The bright green parts on the vette kart looked yellow like the hammer handle coming out of the oven.

That Cerakote looks really good and I may have to try some of the air cure stuff. Your project is definitely coming along nicely

More painting and baking. This stuff is the V-Series Cerakote, oven cure, tungsten color.

Not super jazzed with the color scheme I picked, but it'll look clean AF when it's all together.

Johnny do some experiments with some of the Cerakote over sprayed parts like your fuel filter. Try to soften the paint with lacquer thinner or carburetor cleaner then try to scratch it with a screwdriver or something similar that would be used when assembling parts.
You're going to be amazed at the durability of that coating.
Looks great!

Got the oil drains figured out today, and welded the secondary turbo wastegate control spring bracket to the mid frame mount bracket.

I'm very happy with how the drains came out. I feel like they will be an effective team. The wye block fitting was kinda fun to make too, a neat challenge to wrap my head around.

Are you worried at all about the volume of oil draining from 2 turbos through the one drain?

Not after talking with @boots4 . Should be fine. The hole in the block is a decent amount larger than the exit orifices in these turbos.

It may be time to relocate that oil filter.

Agree. We'll see if it's necessary in a day or two.

I can get away without relocating the oil filter, but it's tight, lol. Just need a different intake boot.

Almost ready for a test drive.
