If yours are loose and rattling, I did a guide on how to tighten them up.

Mystery squeak solved! Cargo window loose.

I wouldn't worry about the cracked trim, mine is cracked as well.

I use mine occasionally, but honestly I forget they are there.

You have to open the window and have to get to the screw by standing outside because if the screw is too loose the plate ( little round button looking thing on the ouside of the vent window) will spin. That is why you need the 90 Degree :)censor:) On my LX the bracket/hinge that attaches to the actual glass on the inside was rattling.
Love the rear quarter glass but mine squeak as well. Just curious, are we talking about the same bolt that needs tightening here?

Screws I am referring to are on the C-Pillar. The button you see from the outside near the D-Pillar is what Tahomatom is referring to.

I did not need to remove the interior panels to fix my rattle. My glass was just loose. I would check the screw I am talking about first and if it is tight you will need to go the next step which is to follow seanzOrs post.

^^^^^^^^ Well....that certainly looks like fun.

That's a lot disassembling just to get to two nuts. Hope mine are not squeaky.

My rear vent windows were fine until I had an aftermarket subwoofer installed, now they rattle pretty badly when the subwoofer is playing loud and the hinges are developing a lot of new cracks.

I'm actually kind of worried the hinge is going to disintegrate entirely and drop the windows out at this rate.

How difficult would it be to replace the rear vent windows with fixed glass? Was fixed glass an option on any similar vehicles?

Use mine almost every day also,

Great way to get vented cooler air in through the front vents when the fan is off and the fresh air setting is engaged.

Open up the rear and on the freeway it draws a lot of air out and thus in through the front vents...

JB Weld ;)

OK....opened my vent windows yesterday to test them out. They work perfectly. Even drove it around a little, no rattles. Closed back up nice and tight.

Not sure if I'm going to tell Mrs. Flintknapper about them or not. As sure I am writing this...she will forget and leave them open. Looks like a whole LOT of rain could blow into one.

So far she hasn't asked me about the buttons on the dash. Like she did this one:

If you ever have your windows open on the highway, having the vents open is fantastic, stops the wind buffering up front. Also, I'd add I do know of one 100 owner locally that had his open on some high speed washboard and one of them got vibrating enough to shatter.

Nice for flow through ventilation on pavement ... but mostly an ingress for dust on all things Nevada and eastern California dirt roads :D

. . . and Utah.

The rear vent windows were very helpful in a parking lot make-out session with my girlfriend.

I need to make magnetized bug screens so I can leave them open while camping. Thanks for reminding me.
