Rear windows paired-feature? (2 Viewers)

From the driver I can use the right rear window button to control both rear windows at the same time. It’s as if they are paired. Left passenger button from driver seat appears to be non-functioning. Had this for 6 years and this “function” started about 6 months ago. My other 100 series I’ve had for 15 years never has done this.
So question is: is it a feature I’ve discovered or a failure that’s got a benefit like the D light?

Mine acts the exact same way. It’s a 99 LX470. Doesn’t really bug me but I have no idea why it works like that. It’s almost like the left switch went out so they wired both windows to the right switch. Been this way since I bought it.
