Yes you do get a check engine but there is a seperate box made by Haltech to clear the CEL's. It emulates the signals you need to feed the stock computer.

I haven't used it and I am not sure if I will, probably but it has no bearing on engine performance, the guys running this setup in AU, I am told just pull the CEL bulb and use the scangauge.

I knew you would like the Haltec, great systems and very user friendly. You can also program boost control with it for things like boost per gear and so on. Great systems, makes all the AEM junk look like outdated garbage.

Yeah Jeremy it is definitely a better system, and I should have known that being cheap and going with the AEM would turn around and bite me in the ass, but it was what was suggested so I gave it a shot, the system was ok I am sure I could have lived with it, but that isn't what I want for my projects.

Ok found the first flaw with this system.... no more cruise control!! lol

I guess it makes sense I wouldn't have cruise control considering the stock computer signals aren't going anywhere but I didn't think about it. Maybe an adjustable hand throttle can be a makeshift CC. lol.

Doubt you'll need it with that much power. My gas peddle would never leave the floor!

Funny you say that about the power. This is my first winter with the blower and I was driving around last night. Every little blip of the throttle will break the tires loose and can get you sideways.

Still great all other times but it was a bit of a surprise.

Haha yes it would trust me, it is almost too much, I was taking my buddy for a ride after we dropped his FJ off at Toyota, and it will break them loose on dry pavement. lol.

Quick little roll on just kind of playing around. When I hit wot around 3000rpm's you can hear the tires chirping. lol. Love it.

From my understanding and from going over the wiring for these trucks the cruise should work. It really does not get any signals from the ECU. Try getting a Cruise actuator from a 3FE and the cable the runs from the actuator to the throttle. Then take your regular throttle cable off and run it to the other side of the actuator. It plugs right into the wiring and the wires are the same.

There was a post in one of the 97 LX450 diesel swap threads about it.

Sounds fun in the video.

Yeah I will have to look into the cruise, I would think that it has to tie into the ECU. It must read the speed sensor and if your speed drops it would increase fueling? But since the stock ECU isn't connected to the injectors it has no control over engine load? Makes sense in my head but I haven't sat down with the EWD. It could be more simple and actually just pull the throttle cable when speed drops, not sure, guess it will be next on the list.

600hp intercooler my ass! Lol. looks like going to be ordering a Bell custom intercooler core and having my buddy Marc make me a better intercooler. even though this one isn't perfect I can't imagine what you guys with the TRD supercharger and no intercooler are seeing....

Not going to lie, that is SICK! Nice work my friend.

Haha thanks man 0-45mph in 4.5 seconds isn't bad for a 6,000lbs truck. lol. How is your turbo coming along? What did you decide on?
Well decided to go with 7-8 lbs and stock injectors/ECU. That's was until I read this thread and watched your video:) Thanks a lot haha!

Just read the whole thing. An awesome build and great detail. Thank you for posting all this. I know it has taken a lot of time. Really cool to see from start to almost finish.

Would love to see a higher-res version of this since I can't read it. Especially since I'm one of those guys running SC without the IC :D
