Yep pulling about .75 degrees of timing per lb of boost, AFR's are in the 11's at 16psi with mid to high 60% IDC's

those are good news .. how your AFR ends at nearly 16 PSI .?

You guys pull some extra timing .?

If you ever decide to turbo it, I'll bet you'll see about .75 degrees of timing per lb of boost, AFR's are in the 11's at 16psi with mid to high 60% IDC's.

You'll love it.

Well, then, I guess I nailed it.

Haha where did you post that Garth? I would go out and buy a lottery ticket today. lol

*edit - the fact you posted that on 1/09/2012 before I was really serious about going turbo and the fact it ended almost exactly that is kind of crazy!! lol

sweet .. I was under the impression you were unable to dial it to 11 .. and you were targeting for hi 10 .. love this part of the game .. ( not filling the fuel / O2 map tho .. )

Not feeling the fuel/O2 map? Why not? It really isn't bad. You just have to set the O2 voltage adjustment to subtract a little voltage so that it thinks its at 14.7 when it's at whatever AFR you want and then check the fuel trim via OBDII reader and add that much fuel to the fueling map. It takes some time to get it dialed in just right and it's fine tuning I will do on the street, but to get you close it's not bad. :)

Did a bit of driving today and I am loving it!!! Power comes on so fast and low there is no lag at all. Even on the lower boost setting I need to get the transmission done ASAP! Also pulled the down pipe and EMS wrapped it. I know wrap gets a bad err wrap, but this is quality heavy gauge stainless steel so I don't foresee any problems.

Garth does know his s***, but I am calling s*** house luck on this one!! :flipoff: haha

There is no way to call IDC and boost levels before I had even picked a turbo and injectors. :)

Uh, no doubt.

That's impressive, in and of itself. Garth may know his chit!

4 wheel burnout YouTube link up yet?

Ha! I don't know anything. I just edited an old post that said "subscribed" with a copy/ paste of your post...then multi-quoted them.

Amazing build.

Well just so people don't think I gave up on this. Trying to get some "post turbo" numbers to compare to the pre turbo numbers but Texas summers have made that very hard.

So when I did my pre numbers it was 70 degrees out, tonight it was 90 so don't hold it against the turbo ha.

Pre numbers
cruise control set at 70mph going west on 90.
Outside Air temp - 70 degrees
Water Temp - 186 degrees
Intake Air Temp - 91 degrees
Small hills truck would have to kick out of overdrive to maintain speed.

Post numbers
cruise control set at 70mph going west on 90
Outside Air temp - 90 degrees
Water Temp - 190 degrees
Intake Air Temp - 119 degrees
Truck never shifted out of overdrive and felt effortless.

We did retune the truck and pull out some boost both down low and at the peak since we aren't sure how much the motors can take. Talking to the tuner big boost at low RPM's is terrible for the rods. SO we are at 12psi. Truck still feels completely different, passing is easy, leaving lights is fun! haha.

More after turbo data.

- Still have a lot of work to do on the tune. Truck is running way too rich at cruise not under boost. Seeing 11:1, so will have to work with that. Because it is running so rich it is affecting gas mileage. I know we can lean it up and get at least 20% better gas mileage.

My control loop is 173 miles GPS, 155 miles indicated. I do it with the cruise control set at the speed limit either 55mph, 65mph or 70mph GPS verified depending on the posted limit.

Only difference was before was done without the A/C on, the after was with the A/C on max. lol

Before gas mileage 16mpg

After gas mileage 11.7mpg
