In looking for these items there are many lift kits in particular. I’ve read that there are inherent issues with lean and pitch issues some have run into. Links or pics would be extremely helpful.

As for wheels, since there are many options, I would love input on tire and rims. Fitment issue and pitfalls are a huge considerations really due to expense. Links to tried and true manufactures would be amazing, for my 1973 FJ40.

imnsho, nothing looks better on an aged 40 than stock steel wheels. Nicely painted in a stock wheel color (pewter gray?) With hubcaps or without (for a completely different look).

Here’s a picture of my recent suspension re do. OME springs (around 2.5”) and Bilstein shocks with factory steel wheels with 33” BFG tires

there are many options,

There are hardly any options.
How many options is more than hardly any options and less than many options? I have seen a few God-awful rims on 40s and some meh rims on 40s (white spoke wagon wheels, 60 series rims...). In my mind there's really only two real choices you need, Stock Steelies or black RockCrushers. Bizarre setback doesn't need to be a big problem. I opted for the RockCrushers with a 2" backspace, I like the extra track width

Do you have a profile picture that illustrates the over-all look of the wheels in your 40?

I like these. More tire/size options with 16”

Fifteen52 Analog wheels modded to accept the retaining clips for the factory hubcap. Opens the door to a wider range of tire sizes. 16” and 17” available.

I think @clrussell is running a similar set up.

Same here. Fifteen52 analog in a 17” flavor. Machine gray paint, OEM hub caps, 35s, 4” lift.

Intended use and desired overall aesthetics will drive this decision. I don't think there is a better look than a spring under lift, with tall skinny tires on factory wheels, 33x10.5's are usually the size of choice for the 2.5" lift crowd. If you want to go more aggressive, 4" spring under, or stay with stock leaves and go spring over, and run 35x10.5's. Tire choice will likely dictate your wheel size choice, and as has been stated previously, there are ways to run OEM hubcaps on 15" stockers, or 16 & 17" aftermarket alloys.

Regurgitating some of my old photos already posted elsewhere on the forum;

2.5" spring under, 33x10.5x15:

I just love 40’s. Jeeps suck a lemon. Good looking vehicle. Just smitten by them.

Seems like every other vehicle there are a ton of options. Have a 85 K5 Blazer? There are all of the options .

I struggled to find a wheels that fit and even more so to find a wheel that I liked.
Narrow the search even more, I wanted a 16" wheel. 17's or larger would be too big for 31s or 33s in my opinion.
15" wheels are narrows your tire choices dramatically.

I ended up with 16" Evo Corsa wheels.
