You are right about the wear. There is some visible. Looking forward to replacing it with the one you fabricated. Thank you!look at the inside of the oil pump bearing, you will likely see uneven wear on one side. My bearings mimic the factory bearing with a radial groove around the center and a diagonal groove leading to the front to lubricate the contact area between the block and gear. Not sure if others are also machined that way.
Quality work as always! You have made a lot of progress since last I saw the project.Flushed both the front and rear heater cores. I first used warm tap water to push out what ever was left followed by a distilled water flush and finished off with 50/50 red coolant. The final coolant rinse was dazy chained from one to the other to minimize waste. I used a drill powered pump to control flow and pressure. I did not want to over pressurize the system and cause any leaks.
I am going to pickup the block and head from the machine shop tomorrow.
@landtank is shipping me an oil pump bushing. Once I get it, I will start assembly. Thank you, Rick!
This is me inside the engine compartment.

I work an hour or two before work and same after. I have also worked on the 1fz a few times so it's not new to me. Engine is almost fully assembled.I gotta ask, how do you have so much time to get all this work done? I can hardly make time to wash my rig.
The actual head? Or do you mean the valve cover? Is there a reason not to paint the head?
