After installing my 4x4 labs bumper I ran my turn signals to 5 LEDs on each side of the bumper. Now I have the turbo blinker, we all know why this happens so I will cut right to the chase.

What is the easiest way to deal with this? Do I need to replace a relay? or put some resistors inline? Someone has to have done this...

I knew I was going to get a "go search post"... Have you? There is not a great guide out there that I found. Perhaps I suck at searching but I found some P/N's that may be the part but no real definitive thread describing the process for an 80 series, my goal was to make that happen in this thread. Pictures and all.

If you have a link to a thread which details all could you please point me in that direction?

@Hornd do you have the part number? is it this one - LED bulb Flasher Unit-CF13JL-02?

So this IS the right relay ^

Yo need to remove the dead pedal and the lower cover which will reveal a mounted plastic board with several relays on it. These are behind the wiring harness, so just move it out of he way. Then you will see a relay with "FLASHERS" marked on it, this is the one you need to replace.

Voila.

There are many different flashers (various manufacturers) but they should all cross reference. You need an electronic flasher designed for use with aftermarket LEDs. I used a NAPA EP35L on my LX and my all LED flashers have worked great for the past year.

Different flashers will say how many lights they are designed to power. If you tow trailers with lots of lights you may need a heavier duty one. My EP35L works great with any trailers I've pulled.

A tip for locating the flasher once you have moved the footwell wiring harness out of the way is to put the turn signal on. You can hear and feel the flasher clicking in the panel.
