Alright, had a spare 3 minutes today.

Obviously not an indexed score relative to wheelbase such as an RTI score. However we've done this with many in the parking lot as a fun visual. ~24" of cross-axle articulation. I'll have to bring a stock 200 to the shop next week, oh and we should do the GX460 too.

Awesome. This is still useful to compute equivalent RTI for a 20* ramp.

Formula for a 20* ramp: RTI =h / b x 2924
Where: (h)eight= 24 and wheel(b)ase = 112.2

RTI = 24 / 112.2 * 2924
RTI = 625

For all intents and purposes, and serves as a good cross check for what is the same chassis, its equivalent to Dan's measured RTI for the LC250 @ 631 bar off.

Dan, would love to see you do this test with a GX460 w/KDSS!

I've been keeping a RTI tracker and data for the GX460 w/KDSS is conspicuously absent. Only data I have is for a 2011 GX460 w/o KDSS scoring 435.

Front wheel spacer does not increase articulation as the up and downs stays the same. It does increase the rear with the solid axle.

I agree with @Jetboy. RTI favors wider (track width) cars independent of suspension travel.

Another highly effective way to achieve additional RTI is to upsize tire diameter, reduce rim size, air down, or all of the above together.

IIRC Dan tested a 460 early on in his channel and the problem was that the front bumper hit the ramp before you could flex out the suspension so it scored relatively low. I would think that a 460 would be very very similar to the KDSS 4Runner if you were to test a bumper chopped 460 that is otherwise stock.

I didn't know the GX460 was ever offered without KDSS.

I'd agree that it should perform similar or identical to the 4Runner with KDSS. They share all suspension and chassis parts except possibly springs and shocks depending on GX model.

Obviously not a real Land Cruiser..

Time to update the graphic though.

Since the 250 was announced I really liked that I could see a ton of 80 inspiration in the styling. I'd like to see the LC trim next to an 80 as I prefer the rectangle headlights personally.

thanks for sharing the pics!
I thought the exact same thing when I saw the initial GX announcements as well.

Specifically this angle and part of the truck

Not mine, found on the 2024+ Land Cruiser Facebook page. OP says lift is a 2024 Taco/LC 1.5” Leveling Kit from Toytec on 285/65/R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Love the look of it

Welp, mine got delivered yesterday and they wrecked in the dealer parking lot less than a minute off the truck. Might be the first wrecked 550. I could almost kill someone today. now I have to wait another month.:bang:

Someone is going to buy that in a few weeks and have no idea; until the paint on the bumper cover starts peeling
It will get an all new bumper cover.

I bought my 2013 used about 8 years ago. The dealer repainted the rear bumper cover before I took delivery. You can’t tell it was repainted. No peeling paint.

A couple hours work, if that, and it will be as good as new. Would the dealer need to disclose that? I'm guessing yes but not sure. If it was the one I was waiting for I would listen closely to what they offered.
