I haven’t calculated more than once as coming from an 8-10 mpg Tundra, this thing is AMAZING, but the one time I did it was +/- 23 highway.

After a ton of research, landed on 17x8.5 +25 318's with 285/75 C-rated ridge grapplers. Really pleased with the look. No rubbing and tracking 19.5-20mpg thus far (running 38-40psi). Really loving this truck.

You need a 2” lift now in my totally not humble and biased opinion. :flipoff2:

Just put on some 17 inch Method 703 with bead grip, 35mm offset. Tires are 285/75R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3

275/70R18 Toyo RT Trails on stock wheels at stock height (for now, with 2” lift inbound). The RT Trails are one of the best all around tire I’ve ever run in my 40 years of offroad tire nerd experience. They are flat out amazing.

I’ll add another pic or two once I get the lift installed.
Why the Toyo Trail over the AT3?

Why the Toyo Trail over the AT3?
I’ve run the Toyo AT 3 on our 2020 Taco. They were decent, but I wanted something more deep snow and mud capable. The RT Trails are unbelievably good in snow. I live in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, which is world renowned for its snow. Tires are kind of a hobby for me. I like to try all of the good off-road tread designs. The Toyo MT and RT Trail are standouts. The RT Trails are far more civilized on pavement though. My worst tire ever in snow? Shockingly it was the Falken Wildpeak AT3W. I expected them to be great in the snow, but they were downright dangerous in my snow conditions. We get very light and dry powder, in big quantities, but there is a big hot spring effected lake a 1/4 mile from my house that adds warm humidity to the air. It makes for insanely greasy snow.

Thanks
I won’t be doing snow much I’m down in the Valley along the coast near Santa Cruz but was wondering how the RT Trail would compare to the AT3 on road and hard packed surfaces. MPG especially

@brnt I like those Analogs. Do you have a head on / tail on pic that shows poke? I'm looking for new boots for my trail dust. Thinking I might go pizza cutter but maybe up to 260/75. Too much of a DD for me to go much bigger I think but what kind of mileage are you getting?

Thanks

I have been running the RT Trail on my Super Duty for the past 45K miles. They are a hybrid but slightly more on the aggressive side of that scale. They now have an RT Pro, which is still classified as a Hybrid, but it's more of a Mild MT in my eyes. The RT Trails are by far the best tire I've ever run (Sorry BFG KO family). They are great on the highway, excellent in dirt, sand, and all but the thickest mud. I've been impressed with them in the rain, but that performance will fade with wear as expected. I have never had balance issues, the rubber hasn't chunked or cracked, and they have worn evenly. I will say they got maybe 20% louder after they had 30K miles on them, but nothing alarming. I have rotated them every 5K miles, and I'd say I can easily get another 10K miles out of them if I choose to do so. They currently sit at 9/32" tread depth, and Discount gave them a thumbs up at the last rotation earlier this week.

I will likely give the new RT Pro a shot when it comes time to replace these in the spring, but I wouldn't hesitate to run them again. A set will likely find its way onto the Overtrail at some point as well.
