I posted in the LC vs GX comparo thread. I stopped by a Lexus dealership today on teh way back home from an MD App.
1. The payload read 1380 minus the 8 lbs yellow sticker, then 1372 lbs.
2. It was a premium model.
3. Deposit is $2500...
The 4.0 is a fine enough performing engine for a boxy BOF Offroad SUV. It really can't help that so many buy these vehicles almost exclusively as daily drivers for suburban commuting expecting car like driving, mpg and performance while kitting...
BMW has four. Front, Rear and each side. You decide which one to export but the most is all four in grid format on one video. The nice thing is that it's always recording so in case of an 'event' or manual trigger you also get the previous 20...
With cameras all over the vehicle it's a waste for them not to use them. BMW uses its on board cameras for their Drive Recorder system. Not as versatile as a separate dash cam but it does enough to call it good for most people.
We too are cash buyers but the one thing I've noticed is that it's usually 0% APR OR $X amount discounted but almost never both. So even at 0% APR you're still paying more than with just cash.
I saw my first GX550 in person and even got to park next to it for comparison.
Who's a chonky boi?
Oh man, I like it a lot. I'm a lifer with my GX460, but I'm looking forward to seeing more of these in the wild.
Umm no, unless it's the dealer who is financing the loan. When you get a loan from anywhere else or even lease the dealer gets their money from the lender.
And more than you think buy cars outright. Last I read it was something about a third.
I don’t see how this holding the title nonsense is even legal. I don’t know about CA law, but in WV you’ve got 60 days to hand the title over to the purchaser. I would think Cali along with every other state would have similar laws.
🤷♂️
I continue to be disappointed with stock Toyota/Lexus SUV ground clearance. An Outback or Forester beats them by almost an inch. These should be 9" from the factory under the front skid. I'm sitting in the 10-11" window lifted.
The overall event this past weekend at Longo and In the dirt really showcased the community that is already building around the GX 550!
Longo was an absolutely stellar host for day 1.
Day 2 we took the group out to have some fun in the dirt...
I'm going to go with whatever a manufacturer does they do across the board with the premium lines receiving more sound proofing with thicker materials and glass. The rest is nothing more than creating a positive narrative spin out of necessity.
I believe the PT cruiser also received some glowing reviews at launch. I bring this up to illustrate that most of the auto journalism industry is outright stupid and/or bought and paid for. Checking forums in 5+ years to read about the actual...
The LC250 and 6th Gen 4R are essentially the same with one having the 'Land Cruiser' badging and name. The GX550 tho is in another class with the V6 and 9.5" rear axle. You really have to try and break that thing.
I’ve read this 2.5 times and damned if it makes any sense whatsoever.
So, they design and build the car based on whatever criteria there is, with safety and function undoubtedly the top criteria especially the doors. Then the door sounds like...
You gave only one example but that pony has been properly beaten to oblivion. In my mind commercials hold a unique place below unbiased truth and above an outright lie.
That said, assuredness of greatness with absolutely zero first-hand...
Ok, you're naive LOL 😂
Seriously, even your example was an infomercial made in conjunction with Toyota's marketing department.
Call me cynical but I don't trust infomercials for unbiased information on anything from replacement windows to...
