A couple hours work, if that, and it will be as good as new. Would the dealer need to disclose that? I'm guessing yes but not sure. If it was the one I was waiting for I would listen closely to what they offered.
anyone know of any aftermarket bumpers yet? I could maybe make a deal.

The trouble with a re-paint is that even the best dealer paint shop can't replicate the paint processes that are done in a factory. They simply don't have the facilities and tools to do the same thing you can in a factory setting. Not to say they can't do a good job of painting a bumper cover. Just that it won't be the same as the OEM paint.

Ideally Lexus would ship a pre-painted bumper cover. The plastic parts are painted separately anyway, so they're never a perfect match. And then you'd get a practically identical product as it was prior to damage assuming no damage to the fenders/structure. If I were buying one - this would be my preferred option.

I'm not sure in what way a dealer would disclose that practically. A sign on the window that tells a buyer. I'd say it's near zero chance a salesman is going to be open about it. Just not sure what disclosure actually looks like in practice.

More shots from westcott. Blue on 35s, Black on 37s.

Anyone with real life pics of the black with Java leather LC250? Toyota website pics are not the most useful.

Trailering your "overlander" to the overland expo. Something seems off. Unless they're towing with the other one - then, kinda awesome.

They will replace it with OEM parts - I would make the deal for that and then wait until the aftermarket starts introducing them. Something like a Bud Built hidden winch mount would be my preference as I think most big steel bumpers are just silly.

Only Road Kill would risk driving a build.

ya,... a 70 it is not

Didn’t say it was nor was I comparing it.

It’s a modern generation toaster for the masses that is going to make a billion dollars a year for Toyota. They ain’t dumb.

It will work well for families, urban, upwardly mobile couples and individuals, and for women.

It’s a safe mobility bet on Toyota’s part and in that regards they did a good job.

How does the underneath look (beefiness) wise compared to 100/200?

It doesn’t. It’s a completely different vehicle to previous generation vehicles that were on dedicated platforms.

This is a modular vehicle and in that regards relates to the new generation of BOF trucks underpinned by GA-F architecture and the new generation powertrains.

You can’t compare it backwards because it’s different. You can compare it with the other BOF vehicles of this generation (Tundra/Tacoma/Sequoia/LC300/LX600/4Runner/Hilux/Fortuner) and that would be a more valid comparison.

100/200 were never modular. They were singular.

This vehicle is just different and definitely more advanced in terms of technology application both at the level of manufacturing and end-user experience.

Not to bombard too much but there will likely be a lot of overland expo builds.

On 35s

Wescott is really good styling wise but not performance wise. All his big tire build are pretty useless on trail. Does not increase articulation nor better suspension damping.

They definitely know their customers well though. The fit and finish is really good.

That tracks. It's mostly just nice to see the platform on multiple bigger tire sizes to get an idea of what it'll look like. I'll likely never go above 35s though. Don't really intend on a lift either. Unless it happens many years down the road.

You can compare two things even if they are "different." Saying they are different is, in and of itself, a comparison.
