Follow up: this worked on my 2008, with the added benefit of not having to remove a rain sensor wiper computer. Of note: while the flappy damper hinge point was intact in my case, the 'axle' portion of the @Oakleyguy part was slightly too large... -

Fixed mine on a 2011. Easy to install , just follow instructions. Works perfect now.

Installed Oakleyguy‘s fix this morning on my 2013. Took about 45 minutes taking it slow. Recirclate door now functions 100%. This is a major contribution to the community and is going to continue to save us thousands. Thanks @Oakleyguy .
