Media LC 250 & GX550 Picture Thread (4 Viewers)

Went to the North Texas Auto Show today and happened upon one of these while parking. Definitely close in size to the 200 but looks slightly smaller in person, at least IMO. Definitely smaller than the 200 inside with interior space being more akin to a 150 or 4Runner. Current 4R has better cargo capacity with second row folded down for sure.

The 200 is bigger for sure and will have more space inside without a doubt but also your 200 is lifted that will make the size difference seem bigger than it actually is.

The 250 is huge externally compared to the older Prados.

The 300 has slightly less space than the 200 inside even though externally they are almost identical for more reasons than one.
They moved the seats more back in the 300 and the body width vs cabin width ratio is also different. Same body width but more of fenders sticking out vs actual cabin space.

Don't want to get too far off topic here but I spent a few minutes touching and feeling inside and out on the LX600 again and compared to the 550 it looked and felt like the nicer vehicle. I realize this isn't really fair considering the LX is top dawg in the SUV lineup and also a production model while the GX is supposed to be a step down and was a prototype unit probably held together by some popsicle sticks and play dough. I'd love to see the LX offered in an off road focused trim in the future.

The LX 600 is one of those vehicles that has really grown on me. Just not a fan of the dual screen interior ( I think they will eventually fix that though )
The 300/310 now look more flagship than before even after the 250. More serious/reserved more grown up...I kind of like that.
The photo of your 200 parked next to it also kind of shows that, that 200 which launched in late 2007 looks like its still a vehicle class above, and it is and that what I love about the 300/310. In the Toyota/Lexus hierarchy I would argue nothing is above them other than the Century.
Pricing for me will play a big role, will I be able to convince my self to get a nicely specced 250 for more than my base 300 GX?
Just how low will the base 250 price be vs my 300 GX? Our market prices still haven't been announced but it will definitely overlap.

I just worry this might result in 300 prices being increased in the future to let the 250 sit comfortably in its price range.

Manufacturing one standard in an area like this lowers cost per unit (less tooling, engineering, part numbers) and it allows your quality team to dial and manage quality better with fewer variables.

Plus the Marketing folks get to claim these are a feature for when you hang out in the hatch area.

I have no idea. Sadly Toyota does not have me in the design loop.
If they had, this thing would have a solid front axle and a drop down tailgate.

my 300 GX has third row seats (thankfully) so it would make sense that they would just have the same interior bits on vehicles without 3nd row..but not sure about the 250.
The 300 without third row seats wouldn't have the third row usb ports though so atleast that's an interior difference.

The mid spec run of the mill vanilla gcc spec 250.
Mid spec lights (reflector type led) non blacked out trim.
On paper maybe the most boring exterior spec but I reckon it still looks alright.

I like it without the rear spoiler and roof rack

This would slot in the Middle of the lineup.
Not the most basic but not the highest spec.

What is the concern with 3rd row cup holder?

I think I can use that. With sleeping platform, it's always difficult to find a small storage to keep cellphone, keys and flashlight. That cup holder space would be handy for that.

Interior wheel wells have space that can be used for storage, if Toyota spent half a second to be just a little creative.

I don't really have a concern. Just curious, really.
On previous generations Toyota had unique parts for those interior trim panels.


And what else are we going to to discuss? The fact that after nearly a full week Toyota's website still has the wrong specs for the Land Cruiser?

Also, I want @Corbet to get all bent out of shape over nothing.

We could talk about how the Aussie Landcruisers aren't real Land Cruisers because they have a space in the middle of the name..
