Is it Christmas? Reason I ask is because today I witnessed a miracle.

Well maybe not a miracle but something damn impressive. At 11:37 today I witnessed a wiring harness composed of.... 3(possibly 4) very different trucks worked on by 2 different techs that has been hacked, cut, added to, taken from, made into a sticky mess, cleaned of the sticky mess, de-pinned, pinned, changed, parts of it converted from RHD to LHD, gone from gas to diesel. At times sprawling out on my floor taking up two of my bays and other times 4 of my tables......come to life. Not only come to life but come to life with no issues except for one minor wiper issue due to a hidden wire that had been cut and buried long ago. Problem resolved in an hour.

I would think this harness has the better part of 5 weeks of time in it since we started it way back when this build started in 2012. It worked but it could have been better. Today it was finished. It will NEVER need anything. It will always work. It is a thing of beauty. Miracles do happen. You just have to have a tech as good as mine :)

Battery in.

Ready to turn the key........this was my job. I did it exceedingly well.

Fancy Lexus style white lighting on this truck

And look at this thing of beauty! 9" of beauty to be exact.

I legit screamed internally when the wipers still acted dumb.

It's really something to see how another tech's brain worked when going over previous work. I'm just happy it all worked out.

Rob at Odd Iron Off Road was kind enough to send down a Terrain Tamer 120A alternator for the 1HDT....same thing went in the #2 truck. Nice piece.

Installed the 12V starter instead of the 24V one that came with the truck. Was able to order it thru my local dealer. Pretty sure it's brand new too...not a reman.

THE ONLY THING I'm bummed out on is that it didn't get white TechFlex :)

A few posts back @svsisu recommended a Land Rover part to be used in this build.....I scoffed at that. There will be NO Land Rover parts on this build I probably proclaimed.

Today I used a Land Rover part in this build. I am not proud. I sure hope that fancy wiring harness isn't somehow affected negatively by this piece :)

Used a wheel center cap as a hole plug. Let's hope for the best 🤞

The DNA from that part will leach into the vehicle and cause catastrophic systematic failures. Just saying.

I am terrified of leech Dan. I didn't see a Lucas stamp on it anywhere so hopefully the Prince of Darkness won't make a visit :)

Fancy starter installed pic.

I thought this bracket was really neat for something simple....fuel line and accelerator cable holder. We're using the 1FZ throttle cable as it goes to the HDJ81's cruise control unit....then that goes to the motor. All of it fits perfectly.

Unless you soaked that thing in single-barrel Jack Daniels for at least a week, you are hosed.

Camper truck seems like the baby brother. Lift parts on order....going to duplicate the suspension on the #2 truck I think. I really like how it turned out.

@Gun Runner 5.....remember that pic where the trucks looked about the same height? Huge difference...

Well I didn't do that. Damn it. We mocked it for a while as a group, mocked the D90 in the shop after mocking the wheel cap a second time. Hope that was enough.

Nope.

Pull it out now and soak it. Send me the used solution for proper disposal.

I think this is the best course of action. We'll get on it.

Like they say in Africa. “Take a Land Rover if you want to go into the desert. Take a Land Cruiser if you want to come out”.

You will now always need another Toyota with you just in case...

Hahahahahaha.....it's a good thing I have a couple of them :)

Put in some time today on a critical part of the project.........made a floor mat.
