Lots to cross off the list today. Everyone was busy. Big push to fire this thing up by the end of the week.

3 harnesses got their last bit of tape and disappeared into the the truck...hopefully to never be seen again.

Had to buy a new neutral safety switch for the A442.

Front of motor complete....crank pulley torqued. Really happy with the fit of the fan to the shroud.

Borrowed this OEM vacuum reservoir from another project....tucked it into the rear inner fender opening on the LH side. Good place for it. On the 79s it's on the RH side of the truck with a metal crossover pipe to the brake booster on a LHD truck. With it in this location on our truck, we eliminated the need for the metal tube and cleared the engine compartment of one additional item. Ran the vacuum line from the pump thru the the inner fender. Clean setup.

Shouldn't be much else going in the engine compartment.....eventually a second battery but that's it. Well a turbo needs to go in....we should have it tomorrow :)

Hahahaha......I'll be waving at them as I drive by hopefully turning in MPGs in the teens :)

So much happening today, not sure where to start.

I'll start with my sole accomplishment of the day(other than cutting the checks to pay for this stuff) ...finished converting the power steering cooler over to 6AN fittings so we could run some push lock hose to the steering box and the reservoir. Nice stuff. We also flipped the cooler up on top of the crossmember so it could get some heat pulled out of it by the fan. Not sure if it will make a difference or not.

I did 2 things today actually.......I used some SEM on the accessory gauge cover. Color match isn't right but it's closer than brown and since there are 262 shades of brown/tan in the interior of this truck, one more isn't going to matter. I'm anxious to get this pod mounted and the gauges lit up....going to be pretty cool on the dash I think.

Which gauges?

Still more wiring today. Never ending part of the build BUT it's damn near close to being done. Spent some time on buttoning up some of the last few things.....

Got the front fuse box back in as well as the 150A breaker for my camper battery in the back. This was on the truck before we started...just moved it to a new location since all of this area changed massively.

We added another 150A breaker to the alternator circuit. All the fusible links were put back in.

Alternator wiring...

Eventually this sensor will get put into it's own harness along with a few other sensors for our gauge display.

VSV for the AC idle up circuit got put in....had to "borrow" it from a 1HZ for another project :)

Which gauges?

The Reveltronics....like what is in the #2 truck. We will monitor boost, EGT, water temp, oil pressure, outside temp and transmission temp....along with voltage too.

I sold myself short....I made this hose for the brake booster to the reservoir.

Slightly important component arrived....

This poor turbo was hurt.....aside from the internals being loose.....it had this stuff happening on the hot side. Yikes.

Our local turbo guy, Kirk at Boost Lab in Tampa, somehow was able to source the hot side for this exact CT26 and got it all back together for us. I ended up spending a lot more on this turbo than I wanted but it should be good for a long long time....

More from yesterday......horns went back to factory location. They were split up before due to the trans cooler we were running.

High pressure AC line re-made to fit the new higher compressor setup

20200825_143813_1.jpg

Bunch of this stuff started showing up.....going to do the same suspension as on the #2 truck I think with different coils in the rear. Dobinsons lower control arms and a front adjustable panhard bar along with some OME Competition 4" front coil springs and Dobinsons MRR front shocks.

so does it run now? :)
