Guess I should have read your ENTIRE post:doh:

Honestly though, Sumotoy's method is about as easy and fool-proof as it gets. I didn't wire up the manual (override) switch. So two wires from the switch, a relay and fuse. Nothing else. Pretty simple. YMMV

If you insist on running it off a temperature, go to ebay. You can find a relay with a temp senso that you stick in your radiator for dirt cheap.

You can also save yourself a bunch of wasted money and buy an aftermarket 14" fan (that will fit) instead of a little 10" fan for roughly $200 cheaper than the JDM. It also moves a boatload more air than the JDM.:meh:

Thay may be true but it certainly won't be "correct".........

Er didn't Romer mention the JDM fan was only like $220 or something close to that? I got mine used for $60ish, with the plug on both sides.

The current list price on the JDM Cruiser fan assembly is $345.27.

Dan, I don't think the holes in my hood are "correct" either...:D

Too bad you didn't get a chance to check them out at CM.

Mine was new with one year warranty, relay, and mounting hardware for ~$40 to my door. So "only like $220" sounds like only $200 too much for a fan rated to move 40% less air.:)

:eek::eek: No wonder you live the :grinpimp: life!;)

$258.95

It's a great mod.;) I just thought this being a tech forum that people should know what others have done as well, especially when it can save them a bunch of $$$. I had Dan send me the JDM fan at one point after reading this thread, and I returned it after I found out the specs on it and what brotherrob had done for a fraction of the cost.

If you'd rather I don't post in this thread, I'll be happy to impose a personal ban.:meh:

If your comment was in jest, then .

Good to see ya at CM.

BTW this fan looks a lot like the early 90s Nissan Sentra fans, I got mine for $30 a few years back for a pusher fan I needed on a Turbo Escort I did. I will try to find a junk yard with one and get some measurements to see if its the same one (or at least the same size).

Exactally! I bought a 20 dollar aftermarket electric fan at autozone. Pushes or pulls depending on where you wire hot.
I bought a fan from AutoZone was originally for radiator with a radiator sensor. I did not use that. I simply put my hotwire into the hotwire of the AC compressor. This way my electric fan works only when the compressor is recieveng power. I also used to $15 AutoZone install packet with the relay and 30 W fuse. Because I live in Phoenix this is critical. Love it! It must've taken one hour from start to finish and I am no genius. Be sure to put the fan up a little higher on your condenser because there's not much room toward the bottom of the grill on my LX.

Can you share which after market fan will bolt right onto the tabs?

Thanks
