Been trying to burn for weeks. Ideal time Saturday but nephew was getting married and couldn’t leave a fire.

Sure would like to have 50+ hp excavator with a thumb! Skid steers nice but mini ex would be last part needed here on farm.

It’s been too windy most days to burn or spray. Now to wet to do anything else. Figure I’ll be working on bat wing mower in next couple weeks.

My neighbor has a Kubota skid steer, L47 tractor and this Kubota excavator. He asked me if I wanted him to clear some brush..from twig size to 5” trees. It is like a giant weed whacker on a 3’ diameter 1” thick spinning disc with carbide teeth. It is quite something to watch…but stand back. This stuff flies
For years we never went too far into the woods as you could easily get tripped up, now it like a Park in some areas

The NJ wildfires are still a few miles away but the smoke is rather smelly and there is a foggy have in the woods. My friend who did my pole barn power line excavation actually had fires in his yard and needed to evacuate.. thankfully, nothing happened but people are really on edge

That was a popular swap back in the day. My 53 Ford Jubilee is @ 31 HP, so yeah, a big jump in horse power. That one looks like it has lock outs on it, 4WD?
Somehow they must have converted it. Definitely not original 4WD.

Having one in my yard tells me this conversion had to be quite complex..certainly cool though

I didn't know New Jersey was having wildfire issues. Keep the 55 packed.
Check this out…this is my excavator friend house…evacuated but thankfully nothing happened

Just saw on tv….15000 acres and 40%contained. A 19 year old kid is now in custody for burning pallets and failing to extinguish the flames before leaving the site

I can attest how effective that set up is. This mulcher will destroy trees and do some serious damage to the woods. Ironically the brush cutter I have will destroy anything up to 5 inches and is considerably more effective when clearing woods.

No one is allowed to be out in area when I working on them. Have to admit at times things get thrown into the protective glass and I damn near spot myself!
