Wow, glad to hear you are implementing a fitness routine!
Good luck.
I feel like your efforts and discipline can only help…

@PabloCruise how goes Lonesome Dove? Is it like Gus and getting better with age?
You know, it is going a little slow for me.

McMurtry is good, no doubt.

I made the mistake of picking up Blind Man's Bluff and reading a page, and now I am reading that as well. All about Cold War era submarine warfare btwn the US and Soviets. Not sure if it is everyone's cup of tea, but it is exciting...

There is even a pig reference in there, but I will spare this group. Not exactly family friendly. The CO in question re-phrased it for his chain of command, "the faint of heart don't romance the fair maiden..."

Nice quote. I guess we’re all guilty of romancing our fair maidens. Probably bc we’ve got so much blood, sweat and dollars in them!

Watched first 2 episodes this morning when looking for my morning Sunday western. Apparently entire series playing today. I am sure it doesn't compare to the book which I need to read when I slow down.

I would be a slug all day if the cruisers in shop weren't calling my name.

That’s quite a time investment to watch the movie. Let us know what you think when you finish. Great movie!
I went to work in shop, I own the series at the farm along with some John Wayne movies. Watch it many times. Never gets old, kinda like National Lampoons Vacation!

Sorry should have mentioned have a few of his also. only the good stuff!!

Watched those last fall. Remembered them to be better movies, not timeless as Dirty Harry, The Good the bad and the ugly. Two mules for sister Sarah, Unforgiven and the list goes on and on.
I live with the burden of having married into the family of the man unforgiven was based on. William Hulse was the actual William Munny, an older man who ran with the Younger gang, who quit the gang to marry a 15 year old girl who died in childbirth.

The Hulse family story is in the library of Congress and it comes up during every family reunion.

Though it's cool to bring up from time to time.

That is pretty darn interesting!
