Well, I must of done it all correctly... I had to do some stuff twice to get it right. The Cruza made it up the hill with the box trailer like a champ without the tire falling off or the bearing over heating. I checked the hub assembly with my hand several times, both side were the same temp.
37s & 4:10 gears are not the best combo, but if I put it in 2nd it pures up the hill at approx 3,000 rpm at 55 mph.
We didn't do much but enjoy trees, family, cleaner air, good food & a day at the lake. No awesome scenic pics because I forgot to take pics. Here is one of my loaded trailer with the 862s coils. She sits pretty good with all that weight.

I started this post in 80 series thread but wanted to post it here for reference. It turns out I have to much caster & it's causing the front bump stop retainer can lip to catch the coils. The bandaid fix is grind off the lip... or reduce caster.

Bump stop retainer can lip hitting front part of coils???

Hey all, tell me I'm not alone on this...
Under compression my front bump stop retainer is clipping the coil. My bump stop is also hitting the forward half & to the outside of the axle pad. Has anyone experienced this also? Here is some pics & vid.

That same day I also fit tested my 37"s without the coils, put my longer Doetsch Tech shocks back on & installed my flares back on. It was a very productive day.

Test fit with .5" added to front bump stops.

All back together... I like the flared look much better.

I also had a great time wheelin with @ToyotaDon & @socallove at a place called Dillonwood.
Dillonwood Sunday June 12th
Here is some snip...
I had a great time up there with @ToyotaDon his boys &@socallove . The day went to fast, it seems a blur, but I did remember to take some pics & vids. My phone maxed out half way up the hill so hopefully Don will post up pics of the rest & the reward for getting there the waterfall. Vids will take a day or so...

Don got some vid also.

Are you going to repaint it this weekend?
I have no plans to paint my 80 but last weekend I did get a bunch of free tree pinstriping down the both sides.

Just since I went to the OME 5" comp springs and adjusted my front panhard longer to center the axle at ride height, I do get rubbing on the outer diameter of the inboard side of the driver front spring. This is only under major compression of the driver side spring. Did not notice marks on the inner diameter of the spring like you point to.
I shortened my panhard some and that was a major help but I will grind some material off the frame mounted bump stop mount this weekend also and then consider letting the panhard out a little.

That's the reason I said it. :)

I like the sound track on your long video. Link to a free download please. :hillbilly:

Come on up anytime, and we'll get you your own soundtrack. :p

Hey, Don's 2nd boy is funny. I had fun with him in the rig. Listening to us talk is more intertaining... kids are crazy good.

Dude, the rims are the same color as your rig. Looks like stock if I didn't know any better.
Very nice, glad they went to you.
Maxx tires are the best tire... not mud & not all terrains a true all purpose tire.

The wheel color combo and backspacing are spot on. Very happy with this setup.
How much lift does it have? You wrote in a PM body lift but does it have a suspension lift? Can you just through some coils spacers in there?

It just has a 1" body lift and 2" suspension lift with OME rear coils and front torsion bars adjusted. I'll probably add a 1" coil spacer and longer shocks next.

The Family Went Wheelin on Bald Mountain Trail

As hoped for, the family has been able to go camping a little more than last year. This trip was two days on Bald Mountain.

I am continuely amazed at how well the cruiser can take the abuse of towing a loaded 6x12 box trailer on 37s & 4:10 gears. I just put it in 2nd gear & it pulls all the way up the 6% grade hill to Shaver Lake then beat it on the trail all weekend then pack it up & drive it 2.5 hrs. all the way home just cruising the whole way. Then drive it to work the next day dirty on empty, fill her up with gas & a bath at the car wash the next day. Simply amazing! These 80s are the best family rigs ever...

Enjoy the vid... wish there was more. I need to remember to take more pics on trips.

In the pursuit of more travel up front I have came across another issue to consider. Driveline sway bar contact (Yes, i do have drop blocks on my sway bar). Since I added the longer Doetsch Tech shocks, disco'd sway & pulled passenger side front bolt this happened.
