Hoping I could get some advice and direction on a issue I have encountered .the rig has 233k good oil pressure, good compression, no water in oil never had any significant problems oil was about a quart low started to here a loud tick or knock/ posted a video of it running this is the start up sound stays the same more noticeable in the low RPMs range. need help! don't want to bring it in unless I have no other resource I can backyard mechanic a bit myself. hoping you guys can help! Having difficulty uploading the 1 minute video, perhaps someone could send me a video of a distinct rod knock vs liter or others similar sounds?

Sounds like a knock to me, especially when it got louder with RPM increase. Get ready to pull it either way. Its going to need a rebuild at the least, or at the most, a new short block.

thanks did discover it needs a head gasket as well looked at the plugs looks like barnacles that attached itself to the electrodes
