I picked up this rust free LX earlier this summer. No engine but I have a few spare 1FZs around to rebuild. Same for the original 343 auto.
Interested in what you 80-series enthusiasts think the direction should be. This Cruiser will be for sale once finished.
Rebuild a 1FZ and run a good used trans is the cheapest option.
I do have the hard to get parts for a manual trans swap. Probably around same cost as a v8 swap to rebuild a 1FZ and swap in a manual trans.
V8 swap would be good low mile junkyard combo vs a new engine/trans. Still going to be $5-10k just to get an engine and trans.
The rest of the Cruiser I have a bunch of parts around for it like carpet, lifts, ect ect. Probably recover front seats and steering wheel and call it good for interior, dash is not cracked. Needs a hood and probably front clip painted. Maybe pull roof rack during the build as well.
Not a keeper for me, will sell once back on the road.
Cheers
