NICE :steer:

That looks awesome, but you can't open your tailgate. The tube sticks out too far, right?

That looks really nice man! Any pictures of the mounting brackets you made? Did you cut out the factory crossmember back there?

Looking forward to seeing the rig at Rubithon!

I actually have this welded (tacked for now) directly to the frame. I notched the frame so the tube sits in it real nice. I angle cut the frame so the lower tube is closer to the body than the upper to aid the departure angle.

I'm out of town until tomorrow but after I get it all finished up, I'll try and remember to get some more detailed pics.

Really looking forward to Rubithon. It's been about 3 years since I've been on the Rubicon and it's always a good trip.

Really nice build. I love the stance. I don't know if this axle guessing game is for all to play or not. My guess is Unimog portals?

Definitely not mogs. Really though due to my change in careers................. I have had to modify my plans for the rear. It's not what I originally wanted to build but it will be stronger and I'm good with that. This is the key factor in me going to Rubithon is getting the new rear axle in. I don't want to be swapping out stock shafts the whole trip.

Shouldn't be a problem to get it in there.

Few more pics of the rear bumper. Got it all cleaned up and finish welded. Should get it painted in the next couple of days.

You can see here how I angle cut the frame to aid in departure angle. also gives the bumper a bit more depth rather than placing the lower tube directly below the upper.
