His pic in post 194 shows one like mine. Id just take the grommet with you and look through the selections. Or tell em 92 chevy 1500. And who the **** knows about a/c and 4wd lol. Welcome to the world of parts shopping for non oem engines.


First link is a 90. Not sure if needed but looks like mine minus the metal hosuing.

Second link has a crap picture to envision the piece.

For the auto parts counter, I drive a 1988 K1500 :)

That's one year into when chevy began using TBI on their trucks (1987) ... tgadd may wanna stick with the carbed version (i.e. earlier year) even though the chance of a mismatched part is small.

On the chebby trucks, know the codes: K is 4wd, C is 2wd. Not that it would make a giant difference on pcv valves.
 
@tgadd Get yourself a small spiral bound note book and write down things like part numbers etc and the date. You will be surprised how much you go back and reference it. Write down any specific information related to any new additions you make as well.

Throw it in the glove box and you are good.

It is hard enough to keep up with a truck that is mostly stock. Once you swap the motor and trans all sorts of things change. That is OK if you are the guy that built the truck and can remember all that stuff. But if you buy that swapped truck you best know your stuff or have some sort of written trail as to what is what. Scott is playing with several vintage vehicles with different levels of MODS, keeping it all straight can get complicated.

The International is all International, except for the Blazer steering box.
 
I think I'm a '74 or '76 K1500 kinda guy at the parts store. I'll have to go find my notebook like Stan mentioned. I do know that the fan belt is the same one I now need on the '74 spitfire since I upgraded the alternator. Now I need a notebook for that car, too.
 
I have kept all the receipts for the things I purchased for my 40. The stack is about 1 1/2" thick now.
 
Halfway removed the funny looking @JohnVee duplicate tire/fuel carrier.

Jerry-rigged a license plate bracket with zip ties.

Removed the front fender flares, headlight protectors, and side view mirrors.

I have the extendable FJ40 side mirrors that attach to the windshield hinge but I think I need longer bolts and some that aren't convex like this one. Thoughts?

Couldn't reach the nut holding the headlight/grill guard thing on. Need to get one of those flexible wrench fittings.

Also cut off the chain that was used to lock the hood. I have more trust in people than needing to lock everything up.

Thanks to @delmandi for the deal on new KO2s. Ordering some stock wheels and hubcaps.

Ordered @Trollhole bikini and trail cover. Thanks Julie for coordinating that and can't wait to get it.

Ordered new Bilstein shocks and spring bushings; however found a good deal on a new Rough Country 4" lift for the same price. So I'll be returning the springs and doing the Rough Country lift. I assume I'll need 2.5" lift springs for the front shackle reversal to level the truck.

Thanks to @fj40alex for the tire carrier and bezel. Will be installing that soon.

Thanks. The weather is nice today, I'm wanting to get the 40 all ready to take the top off and cruise around. Bunch of stuff before that though.
