@Spook50 When I got mine they were untouched except being removed from a truck. There were three along the bottom and one each on the sides, slightly towards the bottom from the middle. Honestly, everything is so tight when you press the windows in (mostly due to the seal on the top edge), that two is probably sufficient on the bottom.

@onemanarmy Our trucks are very similar - same color or close, tire carrier on left side with a KO2, sliding windows. Is that factory 861 Light Blue Metallic from an 81-83 truck, or a repaint in something else?

@dbbowen I will poke around on their website and see what they have. Shipping prices might kill the deal versus finding brown stuff taken off a domestic 60, but we'll see.

Mine is a factory 2 tone blue 1990 fj62.

It has been repainted and both shades of blue are darker than factory

Basic middle aged white women everywhere now want FJ60s with sliding cargo windows....
I woke up in the middle of the night and caught Bayleigh trying to pry the windows out of my truck ... I street park the 60. I had to run her off, but I know she'll be back. She craves the pumpkin spice bailey channel.

The sliding window frame BARELY fit in the blast cabinet. It goes in one way and one way only and thats it. My window frames had some significant rust in one of the corners. Sand blasting it cleared the rust and busted open some pin holes. Going to fill the holes with high temp JB weld and then send it off to be powder coated.

I am glad to hear you are choosing powder coat!

Man these windows are way more work than i thought they would be. I ordered 4 sets from australia from a parts yard and when they got here i chose one box at random and took it apart. They looked okay from the outside and didnt have any tint on them thankfully, but once the glass came out it was a completely different story.

In one corner of each there was just an absurd amount of rust and some of the metal was just completely gone.

These things didnt really fit in my blast cabinet so i did the best i could and then filled the rust holes with JB weld.

I sanded off all the rust and junk and took them to get powder coated. The dude said it wasnt enough and hed need to blast them again. It blew holes through my JB weld job but i just added more when i got home.

This time i used a paper towel soaked in JB weld as reinforcement

Lastly I washed the windows with dawn dish soap. Then wiped them with Acetone. Then Scraped both flat sides with a stainless razor blade. Washed them again with acetone, and finally hit them with a Clay bar. They look amazing now.

Last things to do:

I picked up all new seals and stuff from rubber seals australia, and new latches from toyota. I am tinting the windows with some 15% llumar IRX nano ceramic tint before i put the channels back in the frames and the windows into the frames. Once thats done theyll be ready to go in the truck. Just waiting on tinting them basically. The tint should be here friday and ill be out of town a week so thats perfect to let them cure.

FYI. This Llumar IRX tint is the bees knees. Its like one of the best ceramic Infrared blocking tints on the market and you can get it in basically clear if you dont like dark tint. Its totally worth it. For the front windshield Xpel makes makes a tint called Prime XR Black that also blocks IR extremely well, but has a more black hue instead of blue. In the lighter shades it is actually much clearer than the normal bluish tinted films. Going with that on the windshield.

If you are not scared to try and tint yourself, you can tint every window on your 60 series besides the windshield with Llumar IRX for about $80. If you take it to a tint shop expect to pay like $1,000-1,500 for the same tint. The 60 is a giant fish bowl and the Ceramic tint really helps with the heat in the summer

@dbbowen My excitement level is high over here bud. Can’t wait to see them in your truck. You’re going through a little more pain than I did, but it’s gonna be worth it in the end.

Did you get your Toyota parts yet?
I did actually. A few weeks ago. What was holding them up is the chrome gutter trim. They kept getting them from the warehouse and they were damaged in shipping haha. I just cancelled those items and ill get them later i guess

The Rubber Seals Australia bailey channels are legit. They fit perfectly. They are definitely different side to side. One is for the left and one is for the right. also they only go in one way in the frame. If youre having a hard time getting them to stay under the lip, you probably have them on backwards.

The nice thing about them is all of the holes are pre cut. They leave a little excess on length that you trim but thats about it. One of the holes had to be opened up a little bit for the latch catch on them because it wasnt wide enough.

Tip for installing these. If youre having a hard time with them popping out of the lips, pull the center divider section slightly up and away from the frame as you push the outers in. theyll stay in place better that way
